I'm getting the iP4 plus Bumper soon. I'm thinking about getting the matte Phantom Skinz. it looks amazing! anyone have a comparison to the wrapsol?

Has anyone tried the glossy back? Or, is the matte back the preferred choice?

I pre-ordered the regular/glossy because I thought I'd be getting a white iPhone. Whoops. If I knew I would be getting black, I might have gone for the matte also. But oh well.

Will probably attempt installation when I get home later today. I bought a couple of cases but damn this phone is so nice naked, I don't want to use a case! Hope I can get away with just the PhantomSkinz.

Haha I see..is it possible to dry install these protectors?

Hi Ferris,

I saw that u highly recommended Wrapsol previously. Will this be better than Wrapsol? Cuz I finally found a shop selling Wrapsol and was almost gonna get it for my iphone 4. Do u think i should go ahead with the Wrapsol Ultra + drop thingy? Thanks!

This is a VERY viable alternative.

Having seen the Ultra, I don't feel it would provide you with drop protection, but that is just me.

Not sure if this has been answered but is there any clear difference between SGP's Ultra Matte and the Phantom Skinz Matte Back? I'm not sure I want to spend $15 on just a back from Phantom Skinz so if I get the full body (which is similar in price to the SGP Ultra Matte) it'll just be a matter of which one is better.

Does the matte skin have a grainy textured feel to it? The reason I ask is because I ordered matte but the skin feels smooth and looks glossy. :(

Ok, so I installed mine a week ago and here is my take:

Installation was tricky. This was my first attempt and I was sweating my *ss off in my steamed up bathroom. Not sure if I used enough dish soap for the installation.

I do have some slight orange peel but it doesn't bother me. The feel is a little "tacky" (in that I can feel when I drag my fingernail across it), but the self-healing aspect is pretty impressive.

The edges were fiddly; I don't like all the pieces. I will probably install one of the Lucky Labs colour wraps in their place but I'm waiting for the wood decal.

I don't think the front protector affects the screen clarity at all. The cutouts seem precise and I was able to smooth out any air bubbles. I did get a partial fingerprint on the back right over the apple logo, so that's annoying but not unbearably so. I also have some haze (in the form of a line across the front below the earpiece and front camera), but this was probably due to my amateur install job and it doesn't impact the screen so it doesn't bug me.

I'll post pics if I can take any decent ones; the AF in my D40X seems confused by the glare so it's hard to get good close-ups.

In all I rate this 8/10. Worth the money.

I have to amend my review.

After about 10 days I removed the front as the orange peel and rainbow effect I got when using it in the car were driving my nuts.

I had previously removed the back to install a wood decal, but I have left the sides on to protect the steel band.

The screen is bare at this time and I prefer it.

Kind of let down by screen protectors to be honest. The only other one I have any inclination to try is the Power Support, but trying to get it shipped to Canada is a mission. :(

Here are some quick high quality shots of my Matte back kit (with sides), and SGP OP front. I am really loving this combo!

Hey Bootsie !

I love the look of that front screen.

Does it easily scratches ?

Do you still like it after time ?

Why the OP model and not the Fine or Crystal ? Did you try the other ones and prefer the OP ?

Thanks !

I purchased the PhantomSkinz matte back protector, per Schneider's review.

I absolutely love it! It took a little while to squeegee out the water, but after that, it looked amazing. The grip it gives is phenomenal, compared to the skinless back. It looks simply amazing, too.

SGP Oleophobic on the front, PhantomSkinz Matte on the back. Phone is naked, yet still protected. Love it.

Could you answer the question I asked in the previous post ?

Thanks!

Just to make sure my inference is right, the matte back is a wet install correct?

A question to Phantom Skinz MATTE set owners: My set contains two matte sets, PLUS two glossy front pieces. Is that normal? What am I supposed to do with those? I ordered matte.

Did you order the Matte Full Body or just the Matte Back?

A bit O/T but why would you use AF on a macro shot?? Just use manual and move the camera until it's in focus. And why have glare? For a macro shot adjust the lighting and position so you don't have any glare.......
