I purchased the PhantomSkinz matte back protector, per Schneider's review.

I absolutely love it! It took a little while to squeegee out the water, but after that, it looked amazing. The grip it gives is phenomenal, compared to the skinless back. It looks simply amazing, too.

SGP Oleophobic on the front, PhantomSkinz Matte on the back. Phone is naked, yet still protected. Love it.

I'm glad you ended up happy :)

I received the matte back today and I'm wondering, do I have to make the application liquid as the instructions indicate or would the leftover solution I have (in the spray bottle) from a Zagg IS work?

Yes you can use the leftover spray.

I ended up doing it anyway right after I posted the question figuring I might as well just go for it and if it messes up so be it :p. Anyway, it looks great and I'm quite happy with the product. With the discount code it was well worth the money.

I got the matte back only set I ordered today and I love it! The application was easy, it looks great and I love the feel. It came with sides, too, which I applied since my bumper-type case has beens starting to scuff up the band a bit. Hopefully it will fit back over them! They're cut very well. Consider me a happy customer :)

Had my matte back on for a few hours now. Even though it's still drying 100% I absolutely love it. I threw on the side protectors and it did take some patience but they went on fine. But as someone mentioned above, there are so many little pieces that you could feel every edge when holding the phone. So I peeled them off and tossed them but still loving the matte back.

+2 to Phantom Skinz, can't wait to use it with my bumper and then the iBand from Tech21 when it comes out :)

While I still love this product, I've noticed that during normal use, the matte back moves a bit and it's especially noticeable around the camera cutout. And since this happens all the time it's getting a little tiresome adjusting the fit. Otherwise no complaints and I do like the feel of it a lot; better than anything I used previously

The Apple bumper peeled up the right side of my matte back. :( I'm really disappointed too, it hasn't even been a week. Oh well, good thing the pixelskin HD looks so great, now I have an excuse to use it. .

This never happened to me. How long ago did you apply it? You might have not have applied it well.

It's been a couple weeks. Really it's only the area around the camera cutout that keeps shifting but there wasn't anything wrong with the install. I used some leftover solution from a Zagg IS and then I let the protector dry for around 24 hours. The thing looks great and it sticks so it's not like there are any bubbles. It's just that one area around the camera that moves.

It's one solid film, so I don't see how one part is moving without folding or bubbling in another area.

My problem is more with the sides of the film peeling up after a week, and my install was perfect.

Err obviously it wasn't perfect if the sides peel up after only one week...

Will this matte one work with a otterbox case? Im just asking because my invisible shield is not compatible with it.

Just ordered a kit (well...2 I guess) with the coupon thanks to this thread. Don't like the quality of the Wrapsol and the matte finish looks awesome as hell in the pictures.

is the matte surface still smooth that it slides on tables? thinking of this or the leather.

Yeah it'll slide across the table but there is a bit of resistance. I have no experience with the leather back so I can't say if that slides across a table easier or not
