not grandfathered into unlimited data plan!
i lost my grandfathered plan!! but they said it was because i didn't have an iphone already and had an "unlimited data and messaging plan" (which i added about two weeks ago to my "dumb phone" - not even a BB or anything, just a regular "stupid" phone. I was assured that it wouldn't matter (by ATT cust serv, local store, etc,) but in the end, it did! so i added the plan to my dumb phone for no reason (i was going to eat the extra cost for two or three weeks to be grandfathered! but then, when i pre-odered my iphone i was told that i had to choose a "smart phone/iphon" data plan that is an "unlimited data plan" without messaging so it was a different type of plan that i had to sign up for and had to add the messaging separately. there was nothing i could do or the system wouldn't let me proceed! at least its $5 cheaper if I don't go over. I wish data had a rollover option! did anyone else get forced out of the $30 unlimited plan and if so, did you already have an iphone or a "dumb" phone? i guess the reps i spoke to in the past didn't know the difference between the phones/plan.
Yes, AT&T said we are grandfathered in. Did you order online? I went to a store because I figured something would mess up with my account if I ordered online.
I will be pissed if I lose my unlimited plan. I go over 2GB every month. The local sales rep said that I would be able to keep it, but if something screwy goes on, they will feel the wrath.
