Yes, if you have problem go to Apple store and get a new one. They come in little black box. I feel like Apple specially made these little box knowing they will have bunch returns. This is also the first time I receive a replacement. I'm now thinking to get the Apple Care...
If you can, DO go to the store. It's easy.
However, I live in a very small town, 250 miles from the nearest Apple store. My local AT&T store was quick to agree that the phone was faulty, but won't be getting any more of them for weeks. They said they'd hold one for me, but said we'd save time going directly to Apple. No finger poin
I was worried about the runaround, but I actually had one of my best customer service phone calls EVER with Apple just now. They should ALL be this easy.
The cool thing -one reason why the call was so painless (aside from him being a generally pleasant guy) is that he said he'd read all about this problem on macrumors! The guy couldn't have been nicer, the process couldn't have been easier.
AND because I have Apple Care, they're sending the new phone out right away, waiving the $29 processing/shipping fee, and are letting me keep the old phone until the new one arrives. I can barely hold a call, but hey, I can play games and goof around on Wi-fi.
That's a small example. Following a dead video card on MacBook Pro (discussed here a while back), I got the motherboard swapped out twice, virtually immediately, for free. I now buy Apple Care every single time.
Seriously, as long as Apple's in charge of making this stuff, you need to protect yourself from them.
