I do. The gf loves it. You can't win. You can't beat me. That's why I'm here, and you're there. Because I'm a winner. I'll always be a winner, and you'll always be a loser.

Yeah, those rubber dolls will pretty much do anything you ask. I am sure yours is pretty worn out, with you and your dad taking turns with it - but not to worry, there's an app for that!

Interesting enough, Steve Jobs is going to introduce it at today's press conference. I have it on good authority that he is going to admit that there is an antenna problem but instead of giving everyone a free bumper, in typical Apple style, he is going to tell everyone to just use their butt cheeks.

thats harsh

Here is an interesting question. Why am I up at 2:08am waiting for a press conference about a problem that some people have with a phone that I can't even buy in my country yet? The world is losing it. Me included.

Do I have to buy you a leash and all that crap now that you're going to follow me around?

Really? SO you are suggesting that Apple should have held back this release because they discovered another bug? Perhaps you are suggesting they should have rushed out the new fix without any testing. Software development companies normally follow a fairly rigid release management process.

If this fix would somehow replace or eliminate the 4.01 fix you might have a point. It would not, so you don't.

what are you, ten year old fanboy?

sure, it's been weeks, so they release 4.01 yesterday and today they announce 4.02 coming out with your fantasy software fix being released today ..... make you happy?

My guess is holding an unscheduled press conference 3 weeks after launch (for a company who NEVER does anything like that) is most likely not going to be a sidestep. The other fact is that people HAVE HAD the opportunity to return their phones. People aren't, but Apple still seems concerned enough to do something about it even as they cannot keep the product in stock.

We'll find out soon! I hope you're right, I don't really like complaining, but I'm DEFINITELY having more problems with this phone dropping calls than my 3G, and some of those have been important calls.

No, I think you have learned your lesson. Your last posts have been much more civil.

Do not make me taunt you a second time.

Non-issue. Stop making important calls.

What if they move the weak part of the antenna to the top? Nobody holds the phone on the top while talking!

I do. You don't approve of that? You don't think I'm entitled to make phone calls? You want them to change the design so that all of my calls will be dropped? Are you calling me a nobody?

Or maybe you'll come clean and admit you do anal.

since this whole antenna story is real pain in the *ss, we are all forced to do anal :D

even if they change the part or move it, they will have to recall all the phones sold so far...

in both cases, they have to announce a huge decision to solve the problem

Introducing today : iTape and iVarnish. Just choose one, put it on the antenna and your iPhone 4 will be fine.

Hmm, it seems like Apple (Steve Jobs) has said there won't be a software fix for the reception issue. Bumpers are it for the moment.

This will solve all of the reception problems:

If Apple re-designs the iPhone 4 antenna(s), what it the approval time required by the FCC? Could this happen by September 30 or is the FCC process longer?

I don't know if people here are (made) aware of this, but whenever you make/receive a phone call, in an area where you see less bars in the signal strength indicator, then the antenna signal level (power) will have to be adjusted – by the firmware – to avoid dropped calls. That is also when we are exposed to a higher Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) because the output has to be so much higher.

Want to read the lab reports of your iPhone 4, then Start here or jump right in with this document.

And here are the permissible amounts of radiation:

- Head: up to 1.6 W/kg
- Whole body: up to 0.08 W/kg
- Hands, wrists, feet, and ankles: up to 4 W/kg

Notes: Generally a margin of safety is between 50 and 100 times lower than the point at which health problems might occur, but for cell phone radiation exposures to the head, the standard for cell phones allows a SAR value up to 1.6 W/kg – a margin of safety of only 2.5 times!

And for exposures to hands, wrists, feet and ankles, cell phones can legally have a SAR value of 4 W/kg – no margin of safety!

But more importantly; The FCC regulation has never been updated, not since 1992!

Tip: People making many/long phone calls should use a Blue tooth headset, which also exposes you to radiation, but to a much, much lower (acceptable) level.
