iPhone 4 Sold Out for Launch Day at AT&T and At Least Parts of Europe

If they're suppose to show up on the 24th, the only thing that's left to do at this point is print the shipping label and slap it on the box.

All I can say is thank god I didn't take a chance to show up after work at an AT&T or Best Buy store on the 24th expecting to get a phone.
 
No UK pre-orders for contract iPhones

It’s quite annoying that Apple are only allowing pre-orders for full price SIM-free iPhone 4s in the UK. At this rate, I doubt that there will be any left for those who wish to buy the phone on contract at a subsidised rate as per the US.

This is causing quite a lot of confusion amongst customers, many of whom now think that the iPhone 4 is ridiculously overpriced compared to the competition. Even the carriers were caught on the hop with some announcing that they were planning to take pre-orders only to later announce that iPhone 4 contracts will only be available from June 24th.

It seems like Apple is taking commercial advantage of its ability to sell direct to customers by rationing the supply of iPhones to its carriers, which is a bit cheeky, not to mention frustrating for those of us who were hoping to sign up for upgrades in time for the official launch later this month.
 
So let me get this straight! There will still be iPhone 4 for sale in store for those that aint pre-ordered it? Im dreading the queues.

i mean... 3 years in... and this is still where we are. this is a freaking joke.

both apple and att get a giant **** YOU from me today. this is such a cluster****. what a terrible system.

obviously, apple and att were caught by surprise. of course they would be.

i was right about to place my order for the 32GB iPhone 4 and i got the twitter about it being sold out... i placed my order and it never said anything about being sold out... i called att and told them i just place my order and they said that after 4:30 Central time, they were sold out and i wouldnt get my phone till the 25-28 depending on when i placed my order.... im super pissed right now!
 
Well, just got my order through the US Apple Store at around 6 p.m. Central Time. It took something like a dozen tries, but one went through. I have a valid order number, but no confirmation e-mail as yet, so still holding my breath.

Of course with the system acting the way it is, there's probably a backlog on e-mails, too.

The arrival date does say 24 June, so we shall see...
 
i'm glad i placed my pre-order, 10 minutes after the store went live... :apple:

come on apple and att... people is been trying to pre-order all day.... :mad:

Anyone else getting this message from Apple? I keep thinking I have it ordered, but of course something goes wrong.

Just out of curiosity, is a one to three day delay that important? I mean, every time they've launched phones in the past you've had to stand in line at a store and take the chance that there were still some available by the time you got to the head of the line. This way, no standing, and you're guaranteed a phone even if it isn't on launch day.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Yeah, I got an order in, but if the date changes I won't be upset. I'll just wait, and use my old iPhone in peace until the new one cometh.
 
Finally!

Well first off (like others) I am not happy with the very poor handling of the pre-orders. Along with the UN-availability of the white version and the delay of the other color bumpers it was not an easy day. I traded in my 3gs @ Radio Shack last week and got $272 for it...of course on a gift card. All day Radio Shack was not able to get me the "code" so I could get mine next week. The guy read me the Corp. email and then said that it is basically saying, "OH WELL" to us.
Went on Apple store online and amazingly enough I was able to order the 32gb black...but it sucks cause now I am stuck with a gift card. Guess I will update my dads line to the new iPhone and then sell it for lots of money on ebay :)
 
FINALLY!

Just order two iPhone's for my family plan on store.apple.com. Just took me 12 freakin' hours to do it!!!

People... if you want an iPhone, keep trying store.apple.com. It's getting faster.

I got my upgrade order through successfully on ATT's site, the Apple site still wouldn't work for me. One notable thing is that my unlimited data for 30/month is still there which is cool. Now I hear this crap about ATT being out so I may not be getting it on the 24th. Grrrrrr.
 
people are too funny the server for both ATT and Apple are getting flooded. never trust ATT rep for info either. just relax, I'm waiting for the white any way. Oh wait I guess I should ***** about that seriously not the end of the world if I have to wait a couple more weeks. oh and you can still order at AT&T I just tried it.

Is this through Apple or AT&T?
 
At least everyone can take solace in the fact that by the 24th we'll all have forgotten about this because we'll be bitching about the fact we can't activate our phones....

I finally got my order in after trying for an hours at 7 this morning. I have it being shipped to my house on the 24th and I just got my conformation email like 10 min ago
