iPhone 4 Sold Out for Launch Day at AT&T and At Least Parts of Europe

Just ordered 2 black 32GB back-to-back in separate orders.....get in there if you've given up! I've been trying all day
 
I pre-ordered my 32 GB at an AT&T store this morning. The line was growing and growing as their computer system was crashing. I got there just in time. Usually I'm the one dealing with the delays but I won't consider myself lucky until it's in my hands on the 24th.
 
Finally

I started this morning and just finally got it around 7:43 PM EST. I love the white but I cannot waiiiit:)
 
32gb 699?

I was able to reserve a pick up at the store but it showed my price as $600, even though I am eligible for the full upgrade. Anyone else have this?
 
All the replies on here point to the same experience for everyone-and it's not Apple's servers that slowed everyone down. You'll notice you glided smoothly through all of Apple's portals; but for the 3 screens that required data be pulled from AT&T, (eligibility, billing address, etc) that's where the slowdown was....again. That's right, folks, AT&T has done a fantastic job of letting Apple customers down again, for the 4th year in a row.

Notice how AT&T's statement didn't say anything about how badly their servers handled all the traffic, and made it sound like the "incredible interest in iPhone 4" was a complete surprise!?!
 
So I've been trying all day from my home computer, in Portland, OR... Kept getting errors.

I decided to RDP into my dedicated server in Michigan (just for the fun of it). First attempt using Firefox and I was right in. Ordered, no errors. Just for kicks. Tried to order second one from my home computer, errors. Went back to my server, worked flawlessly.

Interesting. At least to me.

You're an idiot if you are going to the Droid just because you can't order the iPhone within 7 hours. Talk about impatient. Give me a break.
 
just had my order go though on the apple website too. it was really fast. still havent gotten an email though.......

I managed to get thru. I did get a message thanking me for my order and gave me an order number. I have not gotten a confirmation email so I am going to wait before I make plans.

I love Apple products, but this is pathetic...

Is this the 14th century? These companies don't run "what if?" scenarios and prepare contingencies?

I used to think that all these shortages were just clever marketing, but now I'm tempted to just blame pathetic incompetence and disregard for (loyal) customers.
 
It's NOT because of SOLD OUT!

AT&T pre-order pick-up was supposed to be after June 25. I called them yesterday and was confirmed about this policy. So if you pre-order on AT&T and have to pick it up after June 25, it's NOT because it's sold out.

Between iPad shortages and now this catastrophe, I think launches will work differently from now on. Maybe most of the changes will be behind-the-scenes, but something is gonna change.

I managed to order three (replacing all of the 3GS phones on my acct.) with some level of difficulty on AT&Ts site. Once I finally connected to the order page, though, it was smooth sailing. That was around 4:15p EST
 
I just ordered two 16G black iPhone 4 (i think the only color avail right?) in two separate orders! All on Apple online store.

Tried to buy them both in same order but i had to complete one then start over again and get the other... Got the $199 price on both and showed a 6/24 delivery date!

It's still possible!
 
My order finally went through on Apple's site, as well, a few minutes ago (although no email yet). I'm not terribly concerned that I get the phone on the 24th -- only that I get the phone without having to go near an Apple store and all the crowds on launch day.

UK iPhones already out of stock

I just noticed that the shipping date for iPhone 4s in the UK Apple Store has been pushed back to 2nd July, so whether there will be any units for sale on the 24th is anybody’s guess. :confused:

Congrats to those of you who managed to successfully place an order! I guess I’ll just have to wait patiently in line along with the rest of Europe... ;)

EDIT: So as of 3:50 PST My order just went through on the Apple US site. I hammered it with requests till one finally got as far as the cart, and after that it seemed to work fine! It still showed the delivery date of June 24th.

Now just waiting on the confirmation email.

Same here, fingers crossed! In any case I took a screengrab of the page that shows my order with the order no. just to be safe. Hopefully I am able to get one, especially considering that the charge went through on my card.
 
White iPhone Availabe Mid-August

Went by my local Best Buy and the phone sales guy said they'd recently received word that the white iPhones wouldn't be available until mid-August. The sales guy said he had to call several people who had pre-ordered under the assumption of getting the white one to deliver the bad news.
 
just went through on apple's site for delivery June 24th. they had me scared initially when it said "Ships June 24th", but that may be a site error, all other references to June 24th were for delivery.

i also got the black bumper.
 
Wow I just got trough and pre ordered my 32 Gig in black.
I've been at it since early AM today.
This was more frustrating then activating the first version of the iPhone.
This is the 4th generation and one would think they would know what to expect.
