I was really disappointed when Apple didn't use the iPhone 4's design in its iPhone 5. I never liked the Glass/Aluminum/Glass back. It felt so off.

The 4S was my last iPhone before switching to Android. I came back to Apple in 2017 when they introduced the all glass (and to me the first good looking iPhone since the 4S) iPhone 8 and 8Plus.

It's great to watch this presentation from today's perspective. How excited Steve was about the design and the antenna system. :)

I kind of hated the iPhone 5 design, but I bought it anyways. The taller screen was really nice, as well as the camera and performance improvements.

Later I upgraded to the 6, which I loved, and then the 8 Plus, which felt too big but I loved TrueTone and wireless charging. I had an X, then an XS, now a 2020 SE. love the SE so much.

The iPhone 4 was my first iPhone and smartphone. I fixed one that had been driven over and crushed the screen and camera, then used it for a year. I’ve been hooked ever since.

Miss you, Steve.

I agree, cannot believe it was 10 years ago when he announced the phone! Feels like yesterday .

To all the newbies and gen z people posting , you don't realize how mind blowing and ahead of times the phone was in 2010.

2010, i remember when samsung awas still getting its famous photocopier perfected to plagiarize everything about the iphone from the gui to the case and charger design .. I am still bitter how cook let samsung off the hook for the copy&paste job the galexy phone was ripping off apple and how much influence that had on them becoming dominate in the smartphone market ..Sony and HTC did not plagerize and look where they are market share wise...

If Steve was still alive he would've gone scorched earth like he said and battled the apple v samsung case to the end for copying the hard work and billions invested into the iphone dev and how much it chaged the smartphone industy.

Chirst, remember how much people complained when the new design was leaked?

'twas ever thus......

Though one was in the minority here, loved it when it leaked out, reminded me so much of the iMac design of the era, such a stark and industrial design that is still the pinnacle of iPhone design for me.

Yeah I hope they don’t. Square edges are uncomfortable/unergonomic for a handheld device.

Not that I’ll be replacing my XS Max for a few years at least. And even then I’ll buy a superseded Pro model (new) because current model iPhones are a ripoff/not worth it to me. Better to get a big discount on last year’s model that is more than I need anyway.

I only bought the current 16” MBP because of the Butterfly keyboard disaster. Don’t think I’ll be buying a new model Apple product again.

My first iPhone and smartphone. I remember being blown away by how far ahead of other phones it was.
