I had mentioned earlier that I love the shelf ideas and appreciate the effort that everyone was putting into them, but that they were missing an important thing.
PERSPECTIVE! If you're going to make the shelves 3D and give them perspective, it should be a realistic shifting perspective I believe!
Here's my first attempt at shelves. The bottom two may look extreme, but with the darkening gradient and dock that the iPhone automatically puts on, they look awesome.

Looks amazing. I have zero photoshop skills, dont even own it, but if this isnt too hard is there anyway you can do that perspective effect to this wallpaper?

Now that I've used it I think it's a little off. If you look at the bottom shelf "the dock" the apps are sitting in the middle of the shelf. On the 2nd from the bottom the apps look like they are right at the edge of the shelf. The next one they are still a little forward. The 4th they are perfect the top shelf just looks like they are floating a hair above the shelf. Other than that nit picking it looks good. I'd love to see the perspective shelves on that sense wallpaper with the transparent status bar.
