OK, I've got a load of my favorite wallpapers I just converted, all exactly 640 x 960. I've noticed that most of the ones I've download from this thread aren't exactly the correct resolution.

Under the pictures there's a drop down menu next to the download button. It has all the option for resolutions. iPhone 4 should be there under "Apple Devices". They have them from pages 1 through about 6 or 7. The only thing is they're automatically cropped from the original picture, but they still look very good.
This only applies for wallpapers from the last 2 months (when the resolution of the iPhone was leaked), making it relatively useless.

I know :( what are you using to crop them? I used photobucket for some and put the exact numbers 640X960 in but they end up being a few pixels off.

I've worked out a great way to do this in Gimp that is fairly straightforward. Let me see if I can explain:

1.) Open the wallpaper you'd like to crop. File-->Open
2.) Select the Rectangle Select tool. Top left of the Toolbox
3.) Draw a rectangle of any size on your image.
4.) With the select rectangle highlighted, specify the size of your select rectangle as 640 x 960. Toolbox-->Size
5.) Check the "Fixed: Aspect Ratio" check box in the Toolbox.
6.) You can now move adjust the size of the select box to best fit your image and maintain the aspect ratio of the iPhone. For optimal results, the size must stay above 640 x 960.
7.) Once you have your wallpaper framed correctly, click Image-->Crop to Selection
8.) Now click Image-->Scale Image. Input the width of 640 and tab to the next box. If you did steps 3 - 5 correctly, the Height will auto-populate as 960.
9.) Click Scale.

That's it! Then save your image, and you're all set.

No problem! :) Gimp is obviously a Photoshop clone, so the steps should be similar I'd imagine. Gimp is great to have around though if you can't get it in Photoshop.

And on a different note, I do love that blue squares wallapaper if I do say so myself. That's probably going to start out as my first wallpaper if it's not too busy with the icons.

It looks pretty good on the phone. If you come up w/more combos I hope you post-em for use. I like the idea also.

I finally got a template of sorts done, so I can do pretty much any background. I added a bit of texture to the glass too--cleanly frosted looked a little plain on colored backgrounds.

Since the iphone 4 have been announced today i thought its time to start sharing some new iPhone 4 wallpaper here :) If you are going to share your wallpapers, make sure that the resolution is 640x960

Can you also put the 326 DPI to help people out a little? I know how to find it, but I think it would be useful in your original post.

Great pics everyone!

Using this one right now.

Where did you get these, they're awesome!
A guy on deviantART who goes by Orioto. You're welcome to the full res versions if you'd like that I have. They vary in resolution though from 1920 x 1080 up to just insane resolution):

And here is Orioto's deviantART page:

Most of his stuff he provides links to the full resolution versions on his site (they are usually HUGE). Not sure why mine are so all over the place. But it sure looks like he has added a lot more since I last looked.
