il be the first to dissapoint you all, your videos will look nothing like these, why you ask?, well my friends simply because of two things, it was a nice bright day, wheres a night shot? second of all the white balance had been set and there most definitly would have been colour correction on final cut or something, simply put this video is yes a video from the iphone 4s, however its not raw footage, i know this because i produce e-learning videos, this is a nice video and from a phone it certainly is good once its been produced... so dont be fooled into thinking this is raw footage.

They made it very clear that it is raw footage and nothing has been done to it.

"Siri touch up my raw footage!"
"Siri add some hot girls into that last video I shot."

damn, now I am tempted for getting the 4S.

lol my friend you couldnt get someones teeth that white and the colours that great on a industry standard entry level sony camera, im a video producer i know what im talking about, do you think a canon d7 could reproduce a picture like that iphone without it being edited, please i know what im talking about, in no way am i dissing the phone, yes raw footage from the iphone, great, its called 'terms' get used to it, im in the business and know what im talking about, yes i said it twice, all im saying is dont be disapointed when you press record and watch it back and its nothing like what they have shot, and il be getting the 4s not for the camera even though its a nice feature but just because i need one,

and if you now about the basics like colour correction and white balance then youl know that this wasnt footage taken by some stranger, a PAID camera man took this... or at least someone who knows what the hell they are doing did.... remember to sell a product we have to make it appealing.... iphone 4s future customer.....

how is this shot with an iPhone? It's obvious from shots that they've used cranes and such filming tools, it's a professional shot rather than a handheld camera. Maybe it's the same camera? Does anyone know? It would be great if someone knowing would explain.

OK, so this answers one of my questions about video size. This video is 36 seconds, and about 36MB. So, rule of thumb about 1MB/sec of video. Might help my decision of 16GB vs. 32GB.

I'm sure tools were used to shoot the video. like you said, there had to have been a controlling arm moving the phone around, but thats not to say it wasn't shot from a 4S.

I myself, am very excited for the camera. I will be taking about 8-10 minutes of nonstop movement Saturday during an autocross event.

They definitely used professional methods to produce the video, which makes sense since they are trying to sell them. However, I'm not sure that explicitly means the video was not recorded with a 4s.

Time will tell. When it comes out there will be thousands of videos on YouTube. We will have our answers then.

I agree. Looking at this on FCP X with scopes the levels are awfully good to be raw footage. Looks like the shot was analyzed and balanced. If somehow the new camera application does this in real time then great. However it does look tweaked.

On another note, the detail in the video is great. Not much noise and very smooth.

at 17 seconds look at the video and notice the air balloons how the colours are so indepth, this is a classic case of colour correction, ask apple themselves and theyl tell you that the video had some 'light' editing....post production bull shi -t

yes while watching the video over and over again, i am extremely impressed and actually il go as far as to say this could revolutionise the future of amateur recordings, i think i just found another excuse to buy the iphone 4s.... but i just want people to know that this isnt raw footage in what they think is raw footage, i could upload footage from a camera that is worth over £1500 and the raw footage is definitely raw i havent even edited it yet just a simple convert to mov file ready for final cut and after effects......

i salute the camera though nice job steve jobs... 4s is building a reputation...

What difference does it make if it's raw or not? The most important thing is how detailed it is. That's the whole point of HD. DEFINITION. Unless you're poor, you've got some kind of computer that you can use to edit the video anyway if you want it to be super saturated or whatever.

The detail is what should be MOST interesting as far as the iPhone's video goes. Everything else can be changed afterward if you want it to, but detail can't be added without things looking retarded most of the time.

It has a bigger CMOS sensor & real-time Temporal noise reduction. Very useful for low-light conditions.

I'm most impressed with the real-time video stabilization feature.
Most P&S cameras & consumer HD video cameras & DSLR cameras like Canon 7D/5D MKII don't even have video stabilization.

the reason they dont have stabilization is because live stabilization on cameras that arent worth at least £3g's will compromise image quality, its better to track and stabilize yourself.... but yes this camera is a demon for what you get, a phone that records and does what it does is pretty impressive..
