This is a dark moment for stand-alone point n shoot cameras.

Agreed. I have a $70 Samsung point-and-shoot camera, that has so much worse 720p video. Whenever I see the 720p video on my computer, it looks so much worse than that.

I want this phone so bad.

If anyone is interested, a good comparison of the current, top Android phone, the Galaxy S2, and the Iphone 4 (not the s).

http://cincaitalk.blogspot.com/2011/06/samsung-galaxy-s2-vs-iphone-4-camera.html

While the 8mp camera on the Samsung slightly edges the Iphone 4 in stills, the Iphone 4 beats out the 1080p video from the Galaxy.

The improved lens and software will surely make the Iphone 4s the top dog for video and probably stills for the near future. Good times for all!

Thanks,

I'm sure tools were used to shoot the video. like you said, there had to have been a controlling arm moving the phone around, but thats not to say it wasn't shot from a 4S.

I myself, am very excited for the camera. I will be taking about 8-10 minutes of nonstop movement Saturday during an autocross event.
Likewise, I will enjoy the higher rez for autocross videos, as I'm often somewhat far away (at least for the camera), so 1080p is nice, plus shaky hands will get somewhat stabilized.
