I'm not sure if it's just my perception or if this forum has recently become inundated with android people coming here to troll/gripe and middle school boys (like himynameiscody). God, people, if you don't like Apple stuff, sell it and shut up. Trust me, nobody will care if you don't come back.

Macrumors is depressing recently.

And, by the way, in before "don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out." I know. If I don't like it I can leave too, and nobody will care. I'm just missing the old macrumors and unhappy with how things are going here recently.

But it isn't the same inside

I have seen a real difference speed wise and how smooth it is nevermind the fact signal is better, siri has been useful to me, graphics are amazing, camera is top quailty as is the HD recording...it may look the same but is certainly improved.

One question: Have you owned, I mean, owned the iphone 4 before moving to the 4S? If so, you would feel the same way I feel, and basically every single person I ran into saying they cannot tell the difference between both phones after owning both of them.

If you placed both phones on a table top, side by side, and asked someone to tell the difference between the two by using it one after the other, they could not tell the difference. Not even the slightest. Some have even said the iphone 4 was faster (check video test reviews online).

At least you can put an iPhone in your pocket. You need a laptop bag for the Galaxy SII lol.
I get bored with the wife but I've got an iPhone too :))

I have an iPod, iPhone and iPad, but I really dislike their computers. I love my PC and will always stick with PCs - they just work, for me. But I have a mind of my own, and no company has "convinced" me of anything, thanks :)

Huh, never heard anybody describe a windows machine as... "It just works".

In fact I would argue that the people who like windows are the exact opposite. They want to fiddle with their computer to the nth degree because that is what they enjoy. Apple doesn't really allow that in comparison. Not saying you are wrong, but find it an interesting statement.

Personally, I find my 4S screen too small. I also preferred the shape of the 3GS to the brick like 4. It's still a very good phone though and I am loving Siri and ability to text and call while walking or driving without taking my eyes off where I'm going.

It's so funny to hear people say that other phones are to big. Maybe if you apple hipsters would wear normal size fitting clothes then you could fit one of these phones with a bigger screen into your pocket! What's even more funny is as soon as apple bring out the bigger phone which they will do because they follow everyone else. You lot all all say 3.5" is perfect will all go out and buy it lol.

Oh, instead of wearing my fat brothas pants with my crack hanging out? Whatever... I have a $1K leather jacket to put my phone in and let the chicks check out the goods... they love my tight jeans! Too bad you just aint got it he he... with your big ol android phone with your face stuck in it he he... Big deal everyone... they are just PHONES get a grip on yourselves please!

Yes I did, for a 10 months...I wasn't going to upgrade but when I got it was very impressed by the speed improvements. Was certainly faster, much more smoother going through the phone, ZERO lag which there was all the time when typing on the internet...that was a big plus for me. web pages are instant while on the 4 it wasn't. Still fast but not instant.

I think thats rubbish to say putting them down you couldn't tell the difference, i would notice it straight away even from swiping through apps it was an improvement.

I was shocked how much quicker it was and how smooth it was...I wasn't expecting any real difference. To me it was totally worth upgrading.

I have also used siri alot more than i thought I would.

Take in mind that all of the other phones out there are made of plastic and screen resolution is less. My brother-in-law has the Droid bionic and I don't like it, especially the camera. Lame compared to the iPhone 4s. Droid software does not turn me on at all. Plastic body phones suck. I don't think I'll stray from the iPhone no matter what the future screen sizes will be.

even if they make it nano size?

Note - I didn't say it just works, I said it just works for me :) I'm aware that that's Apple's slogan and that PC users like to fiddle in general, but for me, PCs just work. Maybe it's just because it's what I started on way back in 98, but I've tried friend's Macs, and I never came away saying "Wow, I want one". In comparison, when the iPhone first came out I wasn't interested, til I played with one, and then I was like "that is the coolest thing ever, I want one!". Same with the iPad, when it was announced I was like "what's the use of a bigass iPod touch?" but when I got it I found it's just so much more than that. Initially I wanted a Kindle, it was my fiance who said if you're gonna get a tablet, get one you can do more with than just read. I got the iPad 1 and then the 2 (the 1 went to him), and I still use my 2 all the time.

Back to computers though.. after falling in love with the iPhone, iPad, and my iPod (which I got first), I did think that maybe I should check out Macs again. Might be nice to have an all IOS ecosystem, ect. Played with a friend's and the machines at the Apple store and I just can't get into it. Everything is all wrong, everything feels counter-intuitive. Maybe I'm just used to PCs, but I have a nice Asus laptop I bought a couple years ago and I love it. It doesn't give me problems, I can do all kinds of things with it, I know exactly how to do everything I want to do with it, I haven't had issues with spyware and adware (although I do know how to protect my computer, so thats probly why). I LOVE my PC. If someone bought me a new Macbook Pro I'd probly sell it. So thats why I say that PCs just work... for me :)

That's what cracks me up with about 99% of people on this forum. They don't need any feature on their apple products and they are pointless features until apple includes them features then they rave about them! it's been this way ever since apple got into the electronics business and the apple fanboys will never change. They just can't see past the shine and glass to see the world has many more better options than stuff made by apple. Apple is nothing more than overpriced form over function.

"The use of that last phrase, “form over function” has always been, as Oscar Wilde observed, a marvellous and instant indicator of a fool."

I don't know why this myth of "you can't fit a phone with a larger screen in your pocket" keeps being perpetuated. The 4.3" galaxy s 2 is only 10mm longer than the iphone 4. In other words the phone is only barely more than 1/3 of an inch longer and right at about 1/3 of an inch wider. So it isn't like the size difference is massive. Normal sized pockets easily have room to carry a phone with the dimensions of a galaxy s2. What you fail to realize is these phones aren't made with the same inefficient use of phone real estate that the iphone has. These phones don't have massive amounts of bezel on them like the iphone, so they can have a larger screen without the phone being a massive amount larger. All in all, the whole I can't fit it in my pocket argument is really inaccurate. You could very easily fit a phone like the galaxy s 2 in your pocket.

The obvious solution is to accommodate everybody is to have a dedicated forum for 'iPhone versus other phones' or perhaps 'Alternatives to the iPhone'. I have suggested this until I am blue in the face, but people seem to like the trolling and arguing. The one good thing, though, is that the moderators here seem pretty good at ejecting trolls if you alert them.

The iPhone won't be boring if you find yourself other hobbies. Don't forget you have a phone. Not a gaming device nor is it made for the sole purpose of entertainment. Well, sure, it can entertain you but you have to greatly supplement your phone with some friends and fresh air. Are you okay now?

lets face it smartphones are fun, I use mine to text, call, watch videos, I use the voice recorder to send friends sound clips from movies through text, which is pretty damn fun and funny. I use the camcorder quite often too. It's fun to tweak the thing for performance. Hell I use the flashlight from the camera flash bulb (not sure if iPhone have this?) comes in handy quite often. Looking up the news (current world events) or when my friends send me funny pictures through text. Some of us use our phones for all they are worth and others sit from a distance and admire theirs, im to busy using mine.

What about the People who have boring jobs or down time at work? hell a good phone has been a lifesaver for me in these situations. It's not that we are to involved with our phones, we just benefit from all of the features they offer on a day to day basis. I plug my phone into my car stereo and jam music. I can download any song in a matter of seconds right from the device itself. So if Im crusing and really want to hear a certain song bam I got it playing loud and clear through my car stereo.

These phones now a days have high quality HD video recorders (that rival some camcorders)and cameras built into them (that rival many digital cameras) I'm not saying as good as some $1000 Nikon, but pretty damn good. I know the iPhone has some damn good games as well, android not as much. You can use your phone for whatever you want and it excels in everything that it does overall. I'm speaking on behalf of my phone, no clue what you're rocking, but my excels and impresses the hell out of me, why doesn't you?

Exactly...its fun when you're sharing stuff with people and you have a clue what to do with the smartphone. People who say the phone is boring on the other hand..........

I personally think the iPhone is a great device.

Still not bored with this phone. Still have it on my desk as a decoration.

Boring is good. Boring works. Boring means the product does what it has to do. I will take my boring Iphone any day. My Toyota Corolla is boring, But it hasn't given my one bit of trouble in 6 years. It works. What more can one ask for?

If Apple doesn't bring the heat with iOS 6 and the iPhone 5, I truly believe the company will be headed down hill.

Has already been said in 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007 and is now being said yet again in 2011. I wonder what's going to be said in 2012? :p

We could be awaiting an iOS 43 release, and the same "If they don't add this feature, they will be going down hill" will pop up.
