Lol quick to call people names aren't you. I know tons of people that have androids that cant make it through half the day on an Android. No need to have one myself to experience it when I have close friends who tell me. They also plan on switching to iPhones when their upgrades are up. You don't know me so don't try to assume what I know and don't know.

You know you qualify as one of the people right? It all depends on how you use the phone. Android phones can last you half a day or 3, depending on your usage.

I can have the phone last 8 hours, or 48 hours, depending on how I use the phone, but that applies with all electronics; you don't see people talking about the MBP having terrible battery life when they watch video all day on it do you? No, because it varies between person to person.

But since you're basing your argument on hearsay and not actual experience by OWNING and USING the device daily, I'm going to go ahead and disregard that completely. :)

But FYI, you and your friends don't make up an ample number of people surveyed to simply throw out the point I was making, just letting you know.

Well, after much deliberation with myself, I decided to pre-order the 4S through AT&T. The website simply says that it was received, and hasn't been processed or anything like that. Any idea of when that will go down? And will I receive it on time?

Even though you're the thread starter you might wanna check other threads, there's about 3-4 that talk about order status but to make life simple, based off what I've read in those threads, your order sounds like you may have to wait 14-21 days after the 14th of October if it doesn't already say "pending shipment" if you check your status through the website, I ordered my iPhone 4S at 2:00 AM through AT&T on Friday morning and just this morning I got my second confirmation email telling me "We have processed your order and it has been sent to our warehouse for shipment." Some of those who have ordered through AT&T also claim that there was a 4 PM cut-off to get your iPhone 4S by the 14th before being apart of the 14-21 day wave of shipments. Nothing is confirmed though so you might still be in luck for the 14th! Best of luck with that. Glad you were able to make a decision. :)

As for anyone else still debating between the Samsung Galaxy S II or iPhone 4S, I've owned an iPhone 4 for a long time before I wanted to try various forms of Android based phones such as the Atrix, Infuse, and Thrill 3D, they've all done a very good job keeping me satisfied and content for only so long before I realized that I am more of an iOS type of user. The applications I used were more effective than the similar ones that Android Market had to offer plus I didn't know about the task management apps that would have helped keep my battery life extended. I am sure the Samsung Galaxy S II would be fun to use for 30 days or even permanently as long as you install all the necessary apps to optimize the performance to it's fullest potential.

So android phones have good battery life if you don't use them.

You guys realized apple is the reason battery life for smartphones right now is so long. Without apple they would all be getting two hours a day

1) Really? My order says (checks) pending shipment. I preordered mine through ATT at 730 am. Others are stating that this indicates I'd get the first shipment?

Also, care to drop the links into the thread?

2) In relation to the second paragraph, I was a long time Android user and I'm going to be getting an iPhone for the first time. I can completely see where you're coming from.

I'm going to assume on an alalogical level that it's somewhat similar to my experiences with Windows 7 laptops and my MBP. When switching to Mac, I found a myriad of programs and small little, apps or tweaks, that greatly changed my efficiency with the laptop.

It's amazing; I can do anything, at any time, from anywhere, due to the various productivity applications that I have installed.

Using a Captivate, Atrix, and Nexus 1, I found that I did a lot of "stuff", but nothing that was actually productive. Of course, there were to do lists and stuff for keeping track of what I needed to buy or get done, but it wasn't very seamless and the experience was isolated from my desktop computing.

With the iPhone 4S, I'm pretty sure the tighter integration through applications (not just Google Calendar) will help me be more productive as well.

Is this somewhat what you were referring to? :)

Apple? Did they design new power efficient CPU architecture or baseband chips? Or better batteries? Or better screens? Nothing of this sort. Stop giving credit where it does not belong.

i know the galaxy has a better front camera when compared to the iphone (2mp vs vga) but does the quality translate over to skype? is the quality NOTICEABLY better?
