I so disappointed

I was hopping to see a new IPhone not the bulky and fragile glass incase. I’ve been waiting for this new phone for so long and it didn’t help all the rumors about the new design, larger screen and thinner aluminum body and what did we get? Same old IPhone 4, not enough to change my mind and make me rush to the purchase line.

Sorry Apple, you had my hope so high and now I am very disappointed with the results.

Why not? After all, it's now apparent that those of us who bought the original iPhone 4 were beta testers for the iPhone 4s. The antenna has been fixed, and undoubtedly the camera has been fixed too (no more blue or green splotch when taking photos in rooms with fluorescent lighting).

By that logic, everyone is a beta tester for the next evolution of any product.

Siri is the only new feature that requires a 4S and it is beta software.

I'm not about to pay a premium for a spec bump and half-baked software. Especially when the hardware doesn't check all the boxes on my "must-have" list.

ios5+iPhone4 = Good enough for now, and I'm assuming that's true for most.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A5313e Safari/7534.48.3)

I have never preordered an iPhone from Apple, will they sell iPhones online on launch day to those buying an iPhone off contract? Not sure if I want a locked or unlocked phone.

Same thing that I thought with my 3GS and iOS 4. With the difference between a 3GS and a 4 already being rather large, the difference from a 3GS to a 4S is even bigger.

I don't see why anybody who got a 3GS from the start and still has it would not want to upgrade to the 4S.

To all of you who keep saying "I'm going to just buy the Samsung Galaxy IIS..." stuff, please just go buy it and leave the forums. That way we don't have to hear your complaining anymore.

Unfortunately most people who say stuff like that are lying and they will just buy the new iPhone and continue to raise havoc here over and over. Many of them have been outted overtime where they keep blabbing about getting an android device but they never leave and they never stop talking about the Apple device they own or pretend to own.

The reality is if they were the kind of people who would just go enjoy their Android phone we would still want them here to discuss things with... but they are not those kind of people, thus why I want them gone regardless of what phone they own.

Apple did not have your hopes up. You had your hopes up. Reality check time.

If you have an iphone 4, I understand the underwhelmed response.

But as someone with a 3gs, it's really a nice upgrade. The ONLY thing I wanted was a larger screen, but otherwise I did get everything else...

I have the 3GS as well, and I can't wait to FINALLY upgrade. I'm a bit disappointed it's not called the 5, but I like the features mentioned, especially that A5 processor. It'll be nice to have faster speed. I guess my upgrade cycles will be on the S cycle

Eligible for Upgrades

For those who don't know, At&t allows the PRIMARY line to upgrade yearly. However, any other line on that account can only upgrade once every TWO years.

EDIT:

I've upgraded my iPhone every launch year, but at&t says that I'm not eligible until another year. WTF.

I have had a iPhone 4 since it came out but I will be buying the 4S. Why you say? Because AT&T can shove their overpriced plans and data cap up their ***. Sprint with cheaper bill and unlimited data, here I come. I will just sell my old iPhone 4 and not be out anything. Easy as pie. :)

Strange ... I got the iPhone 4 at launch and Apple says I'm eligible to upgrade now. Maybe AT&T fears customers may defect to Verizon or Sprint.

AT&T allows early release from contracts based on how much money you spend. They have done it this way for about 5 years. The more you spend, the more time they knock off the contract.

I'll Buy It

I am upgrading from a 3GS and I am very excited about the camera and the voice commands, and speed boosts among earlier upgrades. Don't blame Apple for not fulfilling all your life's wishes and desires. They are a profit driven corporation. They are not the wealthy uncle who bought you the wrong Ninja Turtle... I mean really, who likes Rafael... seriously.

I'm not upgrading to this. What a let down.

You let me down big chief.

Rafael was a huge disappointment to me too.

I got my iPhone 4 the day it came out last year. If I wait just over a month (after Nov 16, 2011) it is the regular price with contract (I want a 64GB which is $399). So I guess I am waiting until After Nov 16th. :)

I will also sell my 32GB iPhone 4 on eBay and from the looks of it I should get at least $399 for it.

First time pre-ordering an iphone, or online at all.

My account at AT&T is listed under my name, but the billing address is to my mom in a different state.

Should I anticipate any problems with getting the phone shipped to a different address than the billing one?

Yes. This was a problem for many people last year, as the phone could only be sent to the billing address. Be sure to double check with them and take pre-emptive measures if you can.

Cant you get your iPhone 4 unlocked for Sprint? I'm not in the US so dont know.

IF you pre-order on 7th, do you get the phone delivered to you on 14th??? OR????

You can find plenty of posts here on MR of users who pre-ordered their iPhones at the first available moment and got their phones delivered the day before the official launch.

Day of release

I walked into the Apple store on the day of release for the 3GS, in the evening, and had the phone in 15 min. I'll do the same this year.

Looking forward to the new iPhone 4S upgrade from 3GS.
