if you've been following Apple rumors, you would know that WSJ gets controlled leaks from Apple. This has been the case with the iPad release, as well as past Apple-related releases. And no, I'm not guessing. This is a fact.

you see, Walt Mossberg's employer is the WSJ, and Jobs and Mossberg go way back. He even quotes him on some Apple products back in the 90s during his keynote speeches.
 
I like all the rumors that are posted. I think they are enthralling. I won't mind if theres no redesigned iphone. I love the current design. All I want is a new iPhone! I have faith that apple will do well. As always ;)

Don't worry about that. Very recently dropped a Nexus S for a HTC Mozart 7.

But I seriously wonder, how you are going to comprehend when some Apple fanboy is going to pester you for something or the other. You have literally abused Apple fanboys for being apple centric and how bad these fanboys litter around saving apple's ass for no reason.

Suddenly out of the blue in a rumoured iPhone 5 thread, you spew some **** about an unreleased android product.

Kudos to your hypocrisy and fanboism. Good going.

Please! Enough with iPhone 4 half-ass release updates. Apple would have to have their heads really far up their asses to release something so minor and mundane after so much time has elapsed from the first phone. Given the competitiveness of the market, I don't think they can afford to.

So the fact they are still selling, means Apple should listen to this because you don't like it?

I think the Verizon thing put a nice little wrinkle in the time line of their release schedule. It will get here in time. Whether it is a 4G or 5G no one really knows. But that is part of the chase.....

iPhone 4S refers to the 5th iPhone, also -- it's just that iPhone 4S is what folks speculate Apple will call the 5th iPhone. If that name is correct then iPhone 4S is the 5th iPhone that folks hoped would be released this past June/July, but is instead being announced in October (shipping ??).

So by rights the phone everybody is dreaming about is actually the iPhone 6 (6th iPhone), which some have speculated may be called iPhone 4G, because it is expected to introduce a 4G/LTE chipset -- NEXT YEAR!

You need to remember AT&T is going to market the iPhone 5/ 4S as 4G. Personally I call HSPA+ fakeG.
WiMax and LTE are the only thing right now that are truly what I call 4G.
 
Claims, Rumors, Speculation......

I'll still wait and see myself (Hopefully Oct 4.) but if this is just an update to the 4 then I think i'll wait out my year remaining on my contract till next fall and see what happens. I can get out in January with an early upgrade but I think i'll wait.
 
Regardless of what they call the phone, the big selling point this year will be iOS 5. We're getting to a point where the hardware won't be making huge leaps anymore, it will be the software and incremental hardware updates that will sell new phones.
 
This would be extremely disappointing if they waited nearly a year and a half to announce a speed bump. It would take me back to the days of the PPC. :p

But I think there will be an iPhone 5. Apple isn't that stupid to come out with a minor update to the iPhone after all this time.
 
As a 3GS owner, I am really itching for an upgrade. This post has me a little worried, and a little sad. I am hoping Apple aggressively pushes something big to compete against Android (the Samsung Galaxy SII in particular)... if not, the other side of the fence is starting to look mighty tempting
 
No iPhone5 or Apple has hide very well the iPhone this time.

Maybe the new datacenter in USA is full of robots manufacturing the iPhone5 in stealth mode ...
 
If it uses the A5 processor and has the better 8MP camera and runs iOS 5, who cares what it is called. If it is cheaper without a contract for prepay users I'll take it.

My thoughts exactly! What the ******* have we been waiting for? When I found out they would be delaying the launch until Oct, It didn't really bother me because I thought "knowing Apple, whatever they have up their sleeve is going to be well worth the wait" What a letdown! Droid here we come.

Does this mean that you will probably need to by the new iPhone 4s to get ALL the features of iOS 5???? Kind of what they did with the 3Gs, right???

Because of a story a while back where a former Apple marketing exec admitted to intentionally leaking information to places like WSJ.
