iPhone 5 and iPad Mini to be Announced on September 12th with iPhone 5 Release September 21st

Actually it is simpler than that. The iPad trounces all the competition because people know what works and what doesn't. If you are buying a tablet based on meaningless specs like CPU speed, you are the one who has been duped.
It's the iPhone 6! Why isn't being report as such?! Once the numbering is taken off it should be numbered by generation and 6 is the appropriate code
Oh! Don't be so DUMB! Did people like you learn NOTHING from the past iPhone release?! The next iPhone will either be officially called "The New iPhone" or it'll be called "iPhone 5". It would make far less sense to go from iPhone 4S to 6.
You should have learnt the last time round we all did this, Apple moves up a generation, then refreshes, moves up a generation, then refreshes. When put into numbers: 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 6, 6S. OK? Is that easy enough to understand? Or, being Apple, we could see 4, 4S, THE NEW IPHONE.

We're just going round in circles! I can't believe none of you people learnt anything when everyone said the iPhone 4S would be called the iPhone 5 just because "it's the 5th iPhone". NO. The next iPhone will either be called "iPhone 5" or "The New iPhone". Apple makes a new generation then refreshes, a new generation, then refreshes. How hard is that to understand? 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 6,6S, 7, 7S, 8, 8S! Do I need to go any further?
It would look 10 times more odd if it went iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 6, 6S, 8. You're missing numbers out. THAT makes less sense. You'll realise you're wrong in September AGAIN and I will chuckle to myself. Just as I did last year when I was right about the name and people like you were horribly wrong.

Sites like this need to learn how to call a product before its being marketed and the generation is the way to do it. Whatever Apple markets the new phone it will still be iPhone Generation 6 because that's the 6th phone apple has release. It could be call The New iPhone or Jobs Phone... who gives a ****, but the generation would not change. It will be run iOS 6 if that helps you understand.

I actually had some one here completely flip out on me in regards to calling AT&T and asking them to unlock my 4s this person went off and told me AT&T will never unlock my 4s and why should they blah blah angry person babble long story short I called them and there were really nice about it my 4s was unlocked 2 or 3 days later pll respond better when your friendly polite etc a lot easier to be friendly or helpful I'd rather help some one than call the names maybe my tolerance is higher than others

In Fact, LG showed early this year a 3D phone prototype with stanted as LG Cube, look at its (its shapes suggest an iThing more than an DroidKirf).

What bugs me is that they named the 3rd gen iPad "The New iPad" when everyone assumes they'd call it iPad 3 or I don't know iPad 2S does anyone know what the "S" in 3GS 4S means ? iPad HD had a nice ring to it too or maybe I'm just brain washed by all the other marketing that uses HD in product names I'll just hang on to my 4s and wait for the iPhone 5S or 6S lol
You beat me to it. Why so much sound and fury over what number, if any, Apple assigns to a new iPhone or any other updated device? The name the device is given does not affect its operation in any way. The name is just a marketing device. Period. Paragraph. End of Report. Maybe Apple should call the updated iPhone the "iPhone XII" just to drive some of our fellow posters nuts.
I really couldn't help responding to remind people that last time a screw came up on these forums it got everyone all riled up as well
