Learning a few more words might help you with that ;):p

How exactly is that not logical? The hypothesis has already shown it's self to be plausible given the release schedule of the iPad. When Apple unexpectedly put the iPad 2 just months after the iPad 1, it undoubtedly threw the competition for a loop. Apple could easily release the iPhone 5 and then give it a spec bump at an unexpected point after they have given the competition just enough time to regroup and alter plans based on what Apple did. Do you really think that Sept. is going to be the unalterable iPhone Release Month from now on?

iPad U.S. Release: April 3, 2010 (Wi-Fi)/April 30, 2010 (3G)
iPad 2 U.S. Release: March 11, 2011

Since when is 11 months (ie. almost a full year) just a few months later?

It is fascinating to me that Apple garners this much attention still from the mainstream news media. HTC, Samsung et al probably release a new phone every other week, even motorolla releases phones several times a year. It will be so weird if main stream news reported them. But, somehow Apple's iPhone 5 rumor sounds OK when reported as news. I am not complaining, but just an observation about the lopsidedness in our common psyche.

Using a 3 months delay to "keep them guessing" is far from a logical motivation. If they wanted to be unpredictable with the release date, they would move it forward. There is no reason that they would delay so that probably their strongest competition (the SGS2) would be released shortly before in foreign countries, and possibly the US also just so that their competition could not predict release dates.

I don't think that September will be set in stone from now on, but I also don't think that trying to lack predictability had anything to do with this year's delay or will have anything to do with future releases.

I just realized this....but one of the reasons that the iphone is selling as much as it is, is because its the same price as the competitors, you can pay 300 dollars for a pc and 1,000 for a pc and not be able to tell the difference, but you can pay 1,000 for a pc and 1,000 for a mac book pro and you will notice the difference. If someone was going to spend 1k on a computer, the thinking one would get the mac book pro, so i think thats what people are thinking about the iphone whether or purpose or not on purpose, but i just thought about it. It seems amazing that the iphone can be sold as the same price as the competitor and still sale what 19 mil????? Come to think of it i wonder how much money apple makes from mac book pros and what would happen if they start selling their laptops for 500 LOL. i think they would sale more actually. what do oyu all think?

I hate ignorance!!

You do notice the difference between a budget windows machine and a highend windows machine. Hell I see the difference everyday when I go from the HP laptop I use as note taking machine to the 1200 gaming machine. The difference is a giant and radeon he 6870 a quad core processor overclocked to 3.8 Ghz yeah their is a difference sorry if you have never used a good windows machine to see the difference.

I'm pretty sure Steve has said that they can't build a $500 MacBook.

lol your not getting my point....of course there i a clear difference in speed etc... as is the case with normal phones and smart phones, what i am saying is that apple is able to make an iphone, and avaiable for the same price that google does with there operating OS. which causes people to buy it that would not buy if it was 500 etc.. i'm trying to show the difference in people buying a mac book pro which is a superior product to a pc, and an iphone which i prefer over an android....the difference is the iphone is the same price so it isn't much of a radical decision for people as getting a macbook pro... Stay on topic bro you missed the whole point of what i was saying...

i think you missed the point also, but with that said i know there are gating profit beyond measure on the computer.....retailers always have to make the decision of if they want to make a lower price (gaining less per individual sale) but gain more overall as people buy the product or sale the product for more expense (gaining more with each sale) while perhaps losing overall because not many people will get it. I saw this with a program i had. It use to cost 100 dollars, and few got it even though it was very useful, eventually they updated and made it 20 dollars, and i went from knowing 2 people having it to like 50.... thats what i was trying to point out... Said plainly. its interesting to see how an iphone can be sold for the same price of the top of the line phones... so that people will get it... but this trend is not carried over to computers because people are not use to paying 1k for one... just an observation... take it or leave it.

I think Apple has iPhones and iPod Touch set up to be the entry point to their entire product line. Also remember that the carriers are subsidizing the phone. Once someone buys an iPhone, they buy apps, and music, and iBooks etc. Then many also want an iPad or an Apple TV. After falling in love with other Apple products, the next logical step is to buy the other ones. If you want a budget Mac, there is always the Mac Mini. I understand what you are saying, but I don't think they need to lower the price. PC sales are down while Macs are seeing double digit growth. The model appears to be working, while the "build it cheap" PC model appears to be dragging IMHO

The difference between an apple pc and every other pc is the ability to run OS X. However hardware is all the same. Running OS X does not make a computer automatically better. I can say that being able to access R.O.G. features makes my computer better. Also even hardware wise and mac is not the best, asus has them beat. People by an iphone because it is an iphone. Ask the average iphone user why did they buy one they say because it's an iphone. It sells better because apple makes it. People are known to blindly follow apple for little reason.

If that specifically is not the iphone 5 specifications, I will sue Fox for false news, and emotional discomfort.

I SECOND THAT! :(

1. The iPhone is the most popular smart phone in the world, thus it gets attention.

2. Apple has the largest market cap of any tech company on earth, thus it gets attention.

No surprise at all why Fox would get in the rumor game. Just mentioning "Apple" and "iPhone" gets the attention of viewers. That's all they want.

ABC news radio had the same story yesterday morning so all of the Fox bashers should just chill.
Integrity in news went away decades ago.

You have a point, but the reason Fox gets (and deserves) special scorn is because they pretend not to be a propaganda organ. Only Fox bills themselves as "Fair and Balanced" when they are anything but. It is that pretense that gets the scorn where ABC does not. ABC is not billing themselves the way Fox does.

If Fox would drop the pretense, it would be left alone. They don't, so people scorn them.

When something big happens in the world, you libs do not go to CNN, you go to Fox News! THE number one new in the world. That mean you libs got to be watching too!

You are just haters as they a telling the truth.

I love the mainstream hatred of FoxNews.

It really isn't the "mainstream hatred" for Fox. It is simply everyone but Fox-lovers that point out and dislike the stupidity put on the channel nightly.

Fox lovers can't really explain why EVERYONE but them hates Fox News so they take the easy way out and throw out "mainstream media" and "liberal" and other words Fox News tells them about in hopes of just steering the conversation away from the fact that they are completely unable to explain why everyone but them hates their show.

So, no...it isn't the "mainstream media" that bashes Fox....it is simply everyone other than Fox News. And crying about everyone else doesn't really help your cause other than alienate even more people from enjoying the channel.

I know, I know...I am a "liberal" or some other word Fox News used about 10,000 times last night. We get it. We hear you all crying about it every 15 seconds.

Can we get back to the point of the OP and not drag this into PRSI?
