Looks like beta 7 was the GM..

no, beta 7 was beta 7, if it was GM it would have been released as GM. GM will be released at the event, look at what's happened before and use some logic and common sense.....

But why are their two skus for each phone with carrier for the same capacity? As in, why are their two listings for, say the Verizon iPhone 5 with 32gb, each with a different price?

Maybe two different models?

I bet its the color black or white :p dont mind the price right now its just a placeholder

The key thing there is placeholder. Purely guesswork based on the previous release. They could totally change after the announcement depending on if there's just 1 world phone model, change in capacities, colours or whatnot. As I said, Argos made dummy entries on their system for the iPad 2 on guesswork, doesn't make them a reliable source as knowing anything.

I really hope this is true and it probably is. I think that the rumors of having an iPhone 4S and an iPhone 5 are both true because I read an article that had the same exact thing as this, but it was the iPhone 4S in AT&T's system.

I can confirm this as I also work at The Shack. However, the phones listed are "100" series SKUs (e.g. 100-xxxx). All of our phones are "170" series SKUs. These are most likely dummy SKUs pending whatever is announced on the 4th.

So Reach does this mean that you believe in the redesigned 4inch screen iPhone 5? :)

I've accepted the following situations:

1) only an iPhone 5
2) only an iPhone 4S
3) iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S

I still believe that the iPhone 5 will be the 1 new iPhone, and the iPhone 4S will be a bumped up iPhone 4 for the pre-paid markets. So yes, i'm pulling for two iPhones. :)

I'm of the same opinion. Not that I want to further fuel the unbridled speculation.

Yup. No sarcasm here. iPhone 4s is coming prepaid.

till the next thread.

If you believe the Telstra ads, then it could be true.

Personally, I think they'd shift the iPhone 4 for pre-paid markets since it would have the (I'm assuming lower cost) A4 and less memory. But they could also have the iPhone 4S be the world phone and shift it to pre-paid markets as well.

Before I go off on random thoughts, does the radioshack only provide sales for the big US carriers shown here? I'm asking because they wouldn't need to show a 4s in there inventory if they don't provide sales for companies that do prepaid service. On with my randoms thoughts in response to what you wrote:

This is really what Apple has been saying for the past year. The execs had to present numbers to there investors in the past year that revealed a truth, that android is taking over in very important markets outside of the United States. Notice the number of stores popping up in Asia? I can pull the quote from May where they talk about Apples desire to open up shop all over the world. They've done what they said they'd do in initiating this whole new market penetration process. It was important for Apple to get more involved in providing for a wider variety of carriers and that is what the 4s is for. It'll be a lot like you said regarding the specs and of course it will lack many iOS 5 features that iPhone 5 users will get to enjoy such as voice assistance. What will make it different from a 4 that justifies the s denotation? You already said it in the world chip. 4s (s for savings, just kidding:p) has to have a slightly modified name because in essence it is a slightly modified phone. Think about what the CFO has already said though "future product transition". We're about to see that Apple has a whole new plan for finally getting themselves into every untapped market they can think of. It's brilliant if they actually go full steam for it.

I had to edit this in because I randomly thought of it. That crappy picture of the 4s backing that looked kinda plastic instead of glass...yeah the 4s could have a plastic back instead because the glass is breakable and plastic is probably cheaper, more durable, and sooooo easy to swap out on the design. I'm taking it far on this thread, but I like being bold in my predictions.

As much as I'd like to agree with you on Apple worrying about the competition, I don't think that's the case. I mean, Apple is just too big for the competition to do anything to it. They keep selling record number of iPhones as they are introduced to more carriers and more countries. I feel like the trend will only go that way, regardless of what they announce or release: a 4S or 5, low cost or high cost.

But then, they are a corporation, so they would be easily interested in penetrating new markets with a cheaper iPhone. So let's see.

It is real. It actually shows up on inventory. There isn't a SKU yet but it's there. They're probably waiting on an official word. But it's 100% correct.
