Processing iPhone 64gb AT&T black, lightning to 30 pin.

I ordered 2 phones on seperate orders .... both around 4:00AM EST .... The 2nd one is available to ship 2 weeks ... delivery 10/3 .. the first one I ordered available to ship 2 weeks ... delivery 10/5

Delivery

It seems everyone from 4AM EST(1 hr after preorders) will have Oct 5 delivery.
I hope it will come earlier for everyone. From what Apple rep told me, the moment you get "Shipped" message it will be delivered within 3 days. For people who gets it by 9/21 could get it earlier as it only takes 3 days. UPS/Fede x are delaying the shipment intentionally.

I got my email confirmation from apple @ 3:59 AM EST so it had to be a minute or so before that and it says 2 weeks: delivery 10/2???
This is all because the store showed be back soon until 3:45 on my iMac with safari, I had to download Chrome to access the store. so p'd off.

I still don't get the huge gaps in shipping dates. 9/21 to 10/2
Full 11 days? I think Apple has more resources than that.

It doesn't make any sense since the latest report said that Apple sold 2 million in the 1st 24 HOURS. That means that in order to run out in the 1st hour there couldn't have been more than about 200,000 in stock. That's a mighty small number for a company like Apple to had ready. 2 million would have been a more credible number, and in that case all the preorders made in the 1st 24 hours ought to have been able to hit the Sept. 21 date. Maybe all of us with Oct 5 on our order status are seeing an erroneous output and that the phones will actually be delivered on the 21st as we would have expected.

There sure is something fishy about that.

It can also be possible that they had 1 million orders in that 1st hour. And the next million was spread out over the next 23hrs.

Mine dosent even say processing.. Uhh that cant be good.

Heres a pic:

I hope this could somehow occur, however, we still dont have a shipment confirmation, yet alone a preparing to ship notification. So it is doubtful we get our phones this week.

Remember Apple had 1 million phones to ship without any delays for people who ordered in first 24 hours. The first hour might have the most orders, but I think it is around 200,000 units. I really hope the delivery estimate is the LATEST possible date as everyone who ordered after 4PM EST got the same 2 week delay. I don't understand how they can fulfill that as they will have to ship 1.8 million of those in a few days 2-5 of October.

I have seen a couple Oct 1 delivery dates but still doesn't explain the gap. They don't ship to direct website orders but carriers get 9/28 delivery dates? Just doesn't make sense.

Haha, one can dream. But really though. It is entirely possible that Apple has 2 million or more units already on hand (analyst today predicting sales through next weekend on the order of 6-10 million units), but they would have had to limit the initial batch of preorders to a certain number. They have to have stock in stores for that day as well.
