white iPhone 5 64GB AT&T

I'm still kind of shocked I ordered 90 minutes in to the pre-sale, and I have to wait for it. Not the end of the world but very surprising.

I'm more annoyed that I got up in the middle of the night for nothing to place the order.

Looks like two of the flights are on their way to AK from China.

I don't want to know about those lucky bastards who are getting their shipments. It doesn't make me feel any better about having to wait god knows how long for mine.

Ehh you're right it is pending.

Actually, pending is still pretty darn good....

Did you order through Apple? And what time did you order?

It seems there are some people who were in that first hour, who then got technical errors and got a 10/5 date listed --- and those people may be bumped up to 9/21.

I was about 4:30 eastern time ordering.... and my only pending charge is the $1 hold.

A day or two ago I had a pending charge for the full amount of the phone (along with $1 auth) and now both charges are gone. I think it's just so they're sure the whole amount is available.

4) 16GB Black ATT

I placed my order (Black 32gb ATT) at 12:05 PST via apple.com and due to ATT server overload I got a reservation email. Went to bed and completed my reservation at 6:30am PST.

I've been in the Oct 5th crowd without any movement since. I'm patient so I can wait but it does tick me off a bit that I was being proactive and got screwed anyways. Hopefully (and probably) I'll get my order shipped and in my hands by next week.

Production Week Info

Production week 32 is the earliest and 37 is latest.
32 - August 5-11
33 - August 12-18
34 - August 19-25
35 - August 26-Sept 1
36 - September 2-8
37 - September 9-15

Therefore, before week 32 should be Apple Store, ATT, Sprint, Verizon, and other carriers internationally (Canada and Japan as others seems to be separate). Production week 38 iPhones should be going to shipping status soon. Conclusion: Apple didn't make enough yet; however, they should be ramping up productions now that Sharp solved their display problem (supposedly) :)

ordered 2:47 AM PDT, 9/14
processing
delivery date 10/5

talked to apple customer service today (our business closes at noon on 10/5) to see if i could pay to change from "standard shipping" to expedited shipping

her responses:
1. iphone orders cannot change shipping method
2. shipment will be either fedex or ups (both are being used - my local fedex guy confirmed today his station was getting 22,000 iphones for delivery this week)
3. my delivery date may move up when it is actually prepared for shipment (and will be notified by email) but that is uncertain at this time
4. she said she would put note on my order telling the delivery person we were closing at noon 10/5 and to try to meet that time deadline.

I'm also hearing that FoxConn can make 150K iPhones a day.

I'm still not sure what to do. Part of me wants to try my luck Friday morning at an Apple store. The other part of me wants nothing to do with that insanity.

I ordered right at 4am EST (where on the order does it say the actual time?), because I couldn't get through on the Apple site for a while, then tried the iPhone app (couldn't add a line there, so back to the computer), then finally around 4 got an order and confirmation email. Still says delivers by Oct. 5th.

Still hoping for sooner than that. How can missing the initial shipment by just minutes mean a 2 week delay? Also, if Apple's statement that the majority of preorders will be delivered on Sept. 21st is to be believed, then are we to believe that over half of the preorders (over 1 million) occurred from 3-3:45 Eastern? I find that hard to believe.

I ordered at 1:08PST through the Apple website -- seems I missed the cut by minutes.

I ordered at 3:10 CST. Haven't heard this before. I have a $200+ pending charge from Apple. Supposedly, once it ships, the charge goes through and that is how you know it is on its way...

Sounds like your phone will be shipped shortly. So you very well could be getting it early next week.
Maybe there won't be a 10 day gap in shipments.

Simply stated, Apple messed up. Preorder is a preorder! Everyone should receive 9/21!

No.. Before week 32, they were making iPhone 4s's. It's not like they have been making iPhone 5s since January. They just starting assembling them in August.

Oct. 5 delivery here too.

Received order confirmation at 4:17am EST.

Don't mind waiting. The only snafu is that I locked in a $200 eBay "instant sale" for my IP4. It has to be post-marked by Oct. 1. Hopefully Oct 5 is at least the LATEST possible.

i'm in the "oct 5" boat too, but luckily the wife called the sprint store right after the announcement and reserved 2 phones and we're 5th and 6th in line. now i'll just keep my fingers crossed that we're far enough up on the list to waltz down there friday morning and pick up the phones, in which case, i'll just cancel the apple.com pre-orders.
