I agree with what the other MR members are saying, it looks a lot better in the video than it does in the Photographs. Almost as if the color differences of the back plates aren't that extreme?

I may be wrong here but weren't the splits on the metal band on the iPhone 4 to separate the different antennas? If this new phone is indeed made out of one piece of metal why would it need the plastic inserts on the metal band? Also Because if it were made out of one piece of metal they would have to use different antana technology since the metal is all connected together on the side into the back plate.

Wait wait wait.. how will I be able to listen to music when my iPhone 5 is connected to a dock? this makes no sense.. why did Apple move it to the bottom? It was perfectly fine where it was!

Also, why the same ice cream sandwich-like design? Bring back the curves of the 3G/S this is ridiculous.

Well, docks usually output audio, or they have headphone jacks on them.

I can see this being a believable leak.

1. Dock connector - Why have such a hugh connector? Especially next to the area where the speakers are found. If you decrease the connector size, you make a lot more room for other items. i.e. Headphone jack, larger speakers, larger battery. In my mind the current connector is awful, just because of the size. MagSafe would be great!!!

Changing the dock connector would essentially make buying a new iPad, iPod, or iDevice accessory pointless.

Not only that but it would piss off hundreds of millions of people with iDevices who have money invested in accessories.

Apple would essentially kill the entire iOS ecosystem.

Do you actually have experience with the switch being accidentally activated by keeping the phone top down or are you just assuming it would be a problem?

Keeping the phone top down while in your pocket is actually better because you can hear it ring, rather than having the speaker muffled by the bottom of your pocket. I always carry my phone top down in my shirt pocket. Much easier to hear.

that makes no sense.

What part?
That I own a separate iPod because I do not want my phone full of music?
I cannot even recall when I used headphones on my iPhone. I hate taking calls with them.

But maybe I'm just different...

Yeah i can see where you're coming from, some of them do. Oh well, looks like i'll have to go back to the good old cable for the next iPhone then.

Still, i'm not liking the iPhone 4/S-like design.

Actually when you put your iPhone with the earphones attached you have to put it right side up, which will be upside down on your hand, unless you rotate it.
So, have it upside down in your pocket will be right in your hand, plus the earphone plug will be on the upper side of the pocket.

Sarcasm really doesn't work on these forums.

They will probably launch an accessory that can act as a bridge for the new style with the old one until everyone gets the newest iDevice

It is inevitable that the 30pin is going to be gone... we have known this for a long time. There will be an adaptor to bridge people for a year until they buy all new accessories.

But to think that Apple will purposely not advance a technology (which has been several years overdue) just so someone's bedside alarm clock still attaches to their old iPhone is ludicrous.

I don't like the idea of not being able to open the phone easily if this turns to be the real iphone  Just like my ipad I have a feel apple is just gonna put a lot of glue on front to keep people from easily getting into their device.

Did you not see the two screw holes on the bottom? Why would it need glue? Drop the top in first, push the bottom down, and screw in the tab. No glue.

I'll be first to replace mine for the extra benefits. A good excuse to upgrade accessories.

If there are going to be hundreds of millions of people pissed off about a new connector. Maybe a good thing to manufacture would be an adapter. Opposite of this http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MD099 (if the new connector is adaptable to the old) lol

2. Headphone Jack on bottom - I don't even want to explain this one... Plug in your headphones and lay your iPhone on a table in front of you. You just lost around 4 inches of cord, the rounded cord takes up more table space, and it gets in the way of what your doing. On the bottom it flows neatly from the phone to you. None of this applies if you use you phone in landscape.
The other benefit is the pocket placement or even holding the phone in general.

3. Speaker holes - not 100% on this one. But I would hope that this will help spread the sound out more to give a surround effect. The current speaker setup is ****** and not loud enough.

4. Height - Can't see any direct negatives. A few positives would be: more room for the notifications and adds. Place extra apps on the screen. Better for picture viewing and movies in landscape. Again more room for important internal components like battery.

5. Materials of back - I do not care as long as its solid, do not smash easily like some phones we know, and allows great signal. Most people cover the back with a case anyway. Color of back does not add / remove any value of what the phone actually gets used for.

All good points, especially regarding the ergonomics of the bottom headphone jack while holding in your hand. Having it on the top never made much sense. Having more space for ads on the screen, though, I would have to disagree is an improvement from a consumer's perspective.

And sell it for $29 - easy extra income for Apple.

I also carry it top down, so that when I pull it out of my pocket it's top up.

Sorry Apple but this is the best you could work out after 2 years ? Come on, I hope this is just fake, if not I'm skipping this and Ill stay on 4S at least until next year..
Apple will use this design until 2014. You'll be using your iPhone 4S for another two years.

This is so obviously a Chinese iPhone knock-off that will be running Android. Hence the 16:9 aspect ratio, the unusual plastic back as well as just "iPhone" printed on back with no other identifying FCC or other marks. Combine this with the fact that Apple has not slapped a cease-and-desist on these sites all tell me this is a fake.

Given Apple's "doubling down on secrecy", as Tim Cook said, the real news is in what is NOT being leaked...

Wow, there's a lot of information that you seem to think is true (plastic back, legal actions by Apple, etc). Where do you get your intel?
