FINALLY FOUND SOMETHING THAT PROVES THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG!

My wife's 4S on iOS5 is the first phone, the second is my iphone 5 on iOS 6.

Both were charged to 100% last night and taken off the charger where they sat near a STRONG wifi signal.

NEITHER PHONE WAS TOUCHED BY ANYONE.

Repeat: NO ONE EVEN TOUCHED THE PHONE.

Just look at the usage stats. SOMETHING IS CLEARLY WRONG WITH iOS 6 and/or the IPHONE 5.

I actually hope this helps with a remedy, I'm getting tired of plugging my phone in....if I didn't have a macbook, this 5 would be returned by now.

You're freaking out over a 7% difference between two completely different phones on different carriers?

We should really track if people are using just LTE, what carrier they have, and their location to base it off signal strength.

It's really hard to judge what people are receiving when they say I had some LTE, some WiFi, etc...

You can't narrow it down to one specific thing.

For me, I will post my results after charging to 100%.

Verizon LTE in Sioux Falls. Going to run just LTE to see my usage amount.

No, not just that. We should be looking at what apps people are using.

Fb, twitter and Instagram drain my battery more compared to let's say Safari or Messages.

Constantly scrolling through Instagram vs browsing the Internet.. I lose 1% every minute or 2..

I was rather surprised by the one yesterday before I went to bed. Not bad considering the usage was fairly heavy.

Holy ****! id be lucky to hit 8 hours. I hit 5 hours and im down to about 15%! Did you start up a fresh phone? Also how do you get the signal in dB?

Is this poor battery life?

Not sure. Do you just use 3g? Do you have push emails? Around how long did you use a WiFi connection if you did? Did you play any games?

You cannot base battery life simply off just a number without knowing these other variables.

Half 3G/half wifi. I have no clue what push emails are.. And I didn't play games for more than 10 minutes. No LTE at all.

Ya. This was set up as new. Also this a replacement phone. I could barely get 3 1/2 out of my original. Although the "genius" gave me a hard time, I eventually broke him down and got a replacement issued.

You can get the phone to show dbs by going to the phone app and phoning *3001#12345#*

If you want to keep it up, then press and hold the power button until the swipe to turn off comes up. Then press and hold home button until it goes back to home screen. Then you can tap on the dbs and it will switch back and forth from bars to dbs

I started seeing some weird drainage but after resetting network settings, I'm back to normal.

A lot of these ss are misleading. iOS should remove usage time if you start charging again.

At one point my usage was over 2 days standby for 5 since I never got time to fully charge the phone.

It adds a message that says "iPhone has been plugged in since last full charge" if you do that. What is misleading about that?

can anybody clarify if I set up with iphone as new, instead of restoring from itunes backup or icloud backup, will i be able to pull the app data from icloud? or do those only get restored if I restored from an icloud backup?

I'm hesitant to set up the phone as new because i don't want to lose the app data...

thanks
