Fixed my battery life! How you ask? Disconnected from my AT&T microcell. Absolutely killed my battery. Back to all day usage. Was only getting 4hrs tops at home back up to 8/10! I don't talk much anyways and most people I,talk to have iMessage so my wifi takes care of that

I find that very interesting because I also am connected to a MCell all day long. I get around 4-5 hours of usage as well.

Problem is, I get 1 bar MAX while in this location if I'm not on my MCell so I think that would hurt my battery life even more. :(

WTF! I'm def not getting life as most of you, I got my iPhone preordered first batch. It does lat the day usually, but can't use any Internet radio or anything to do so. Look at my numbers :-/ how does apple check for this?

I did do the battery drain and full recharge a few times. And I restored it when I first got it before I put my backup in it.

Might have to set an appointment. Definitely not 11 hours of data usage

DFU restore. Worked for me (sorry if I said this a couple times as there are a few battery threads open right now)

Looking The Same for me, i restored the phone about 4 hours ago now and it is still at 100% having been woken up 3 times, gone into Settings and taken a screen shot of which was then photostreamed.

This is with Cell on, wifi on (connected to 5Ghz AEBS), default settings, Siri on and so forth.

I haven't put any of my normal apps on the device yet, just the stock Apple ones (plus those from the App Store) and it is setup with my iCloud account (FaceTime and iMessage enabled). Will keep an eye on how it does overnight.

My battery life is great....

Hope Apple gets this issue fixed for those with issues via an iOS update soon. My battery life has been great. Granted, I don't use my phone heavily, but checking Facebook, Twitter, etc. about once per hour and some Spotify listening (offline mode) and a few photos taken, maybe a couple of short phone calls, I can easily go 15+ hours of standby and 3-4 hours usage without ever hitting the 50% battery level.

I find my results to be exactly the same as my iphone 4. While at work and home (which is usually 75% of my day) I have a wifi connection. I have disabled LTE since I am in an area with spotty LTE coverage, so I figured this would help save battery by disabling it completely. I leave wifi and location services on, bluetooth off unless I need it, and I have email pushing to my phone constantly, usually 15-20 emails per day. I charge my phone over night, plugged in for 6-7 hours to charge.

I should note, however, that in the first couple of days with my iphone 5 the battery was pretty unstable. One day, I went from 98% down to 50% in about 90 minutes with the only usage being a short 5 minute phone call. Not sure what was going on, but since then I have had no issues.

I get 1-2 bars max also. sometimes may see 3 bar and sometimes I even see no service. The Mcell also kills my internet speed. With it connected I get 4mbps down and with it disconnected I get 16mbps down

When you guys are setting up as new do you still sync afterwards from a backup or re-install all apps manually?

I backed it up on both, but since I do not sync apps in Itunes my Apps did not return after I restored it with that backup. I did a DFU restore, and then used the iTunes backup. But since my apps did not appear, I did a regular restore to clear the phone again, and used the backup from iCloud and everything came back.

I'd recommed iCloud backup if you have decent Wifi, make sure in your iCloud settings that all your apps are "ON" to backup. If you sinc your apps on iTunes, you can use that.

If you'd transfer your purchases you would've been able to sync over your apps + data from iTunes. You'd have to arrange them to the right place though.

I can't exactly read through 35 pages, but is there some sort of conclusion already? I get about 3 hours of usage and 16 hours of standby, which is really bad. When i start using safari or any other online app, it's starts draining by the minute.

I'm just testing right now with cellular data off and it seems to help very much. Very slow drain. So what.. Toggling cellular data is like turning your smartphone into a dumbphone. Is this hardware or software related?!

Only Apple knows. But at this point if you're depending on your phone lasting throughout the day you should either switch off cellular data when connected to WiFi or return your phone for a iPhone 4/4S and wait until the 6.0.1-fix is released. Hopefully the issues will get resolved with that update.

Thanks. This is my first iPhone, and i'm just wondering. It's not normal that you can watch the percentages drop per 5 minutes when surfing right?

I'd say that if you're phone drops 1% every 5 minutes that your phone is completely normal! That would mean that you have 8h+ usage. Which is exactly what Apple specified as "up to" when surfing through 3G.

My battery life is great I think.

4g - ~16 hours
LTE - ~2 hours
Wifi rest of the time
Bluetooth on all the time
~1.5-2hours of talk time
~3-4 hours Bluetooth audio streaming

Ye 4G is a real drainer but it doesn't change the fact that you can post your battery usage here if you're using Wifi.
Try 3G , I think it drains less than 4G. I can't use 4G so I can't try that.

However - I still can't figure out why people are using 4G over WiFi when we're living in 2012. Wifi's are everywhere bros.

because if you haven't yet learned 4G/LTE is double and triple the speed of wifi....

I'm not happy with my battery life. It's far worse than my 3GS. If I listen to Tunein radio for any length of time, it's not lasting through the day. Same with videos and even web browsing. On WiFi most of the time. I'm going to return it if there isn't a software update that fixes this.

Some people are having success with a DFU restore. I wonder though, what good does this do? I bought my phone in late October and set it up as new when I connected to iTunes. Wouldn't a restore just get me back to the same place I'm at now?

Yes and no. DFU restore bypasses iBoot which could resolve some issues if the firmware was damages somehow when it was loaded at the factory. But yes you'd have a cleaned phone again.

Pretty neat. Although its weird.. Sometimes it get more than an hour to go from 100% to 99 and sometimes 15 mins. With moderate use.
