This is nice for the iPhone 5 but why is the 4S sooooo slow. It measured up well in anandtechs benchmarks but here it's slower than some Tegra 2's. Its suppose to be around the Exynos dual core speeds. Oh well moving on to the future.

Oh I really could care less about specs as user experience is all that matters to me. Felt a little like spinning it back on the Fandroid that trolls this forum to stir up trouble.

couldn't care less*

I don't care about specs on a phone and probably never will because the parts will only become faster in the future.

do you think that 1601 and 1560 is so much different? you can't even recognize. plus, iphone 5 can't do multi task anyway. quad core takes advantage of all works efficiently. actual performance is way faster than crappy iphone 5 dual core. plus, it has 2GB. don't tell me that iphone 5 doesn't need 2GB because iOS 6 was designed so efficiently. it doesn't need. NO. it's you fanboy's excuse. more core, more ram are better. don't forget that S3 has still a big screen as well.

Exynos dual core is 1.2-1.4 GHz while the A5 is ~800 MHz that's why. Since the 2011 chipsets were almost all exclusively stock cortex-A9's, they directly correlated. The 4S still does really well though because iOS's optimizations make up for the lack of raw power in actual code execution benchmarks instead of geekbench.

Calling people "fandroids" is asking for trouble IMHO.

If people thought it was so great than why weren't they sold out on release etc? Reason is that it is way to big and the android Os is not refined compared to ios

Android fan is still stuck on the notion that using android must surely make you smarter than everyone else. It's the worst aspect of owning an Android device, and yes I own one.

For Android user calling anyone sheep I refer them to Gingerpoo. LaLaLaLaLa.. it didn't happen!

How is that a reply to what I said?

Wait, is this sarcastic? This sounds like all of the posts Apple fans are making to make fun of "fandroids".

Well, in case it isn't, I won't forget the big screen, which is why I will never buy an S3. Enjoy hosting a Minecraft server on your S3 (you got the right phone for the job) while I enjoy sending emails and playing music on my iPhone 4 (I got the right phone for the job).

If only specs matter I should take my HP ML350 Gen8 dual processor workstation with 32GB of RAM home.

It is how well the software/hardware integration is done that really matters. That is why specs aren't that important to me.

It did get sold out on Sprint and retailers. Not that it means anything. Popularity doesn't mean something is actually good.

You don't even need to go that far. The phone being sold out does not even indicate popularity. Company A can just only make a few smartphones and be sold out more quickly than Company B, even if Company B sells 1000X the number of devices.

Actually if a phone gets similar benchmark scores in Geekbench using four cores as opposed to two, it means each core is slower. That means for tasks that aren't optimized specifically for four cores, it'll perform worse than the faster dual cores. So more core in this case means worse real life performance.

But really, there isn't much point comparing Android phones against iOS using Geekbench. The important part is iPhone 5 is really twice as fast as iPhone 4S without having to use more cores.

Do we know that Geekbench works that way? Maybe it only uses two of the cores or something. I'm always sad when I open something on my Mac Pro and realize that it can't use anywhere near all of my 8 cores. At least Chessmaster 9000 does a good job of distributing tasks across 4 of them.

Apple Wins!

Apple wins Gold again! 1 billion on court , Epic sales , Fast Mustang...

Go ahead and reply/quote me with hate comments fandroids.

but remember Aluminum and Glass Body vs plastic ... hilarious.

So comparing a 4-core ARMv7 over a 2-core A6 (supposedly custom chip) is like "apples to oranges". It be like comparing 16GB DDR to 8GB DDR3 (bad example but only one I could think of). So what I am getting at is, different tech gives you different results. So both sides should stop arguing and actually think.

I hope you know that the A6 uses the ARMv7 architecture but is not a vanilla processor like the A9 or A15 but modified design just like the snapdrgon S4

Like to see the love between all of us fans of droid and ios users. Really and truly apple and google must be having a laugh at us if they reading through some if these threads. We do make make a fool of our selves me included about phones which at the end doesn't really matter as they are the one sucking our money out. But iPhone 5 rules over as other manufactures starting to believe carrying a brick in our pocket is the way forward and it's just the opposite anything larger than 4:3 inch is a brick (that's me been reasonable) doesn't matter what hardware specs is on it, most times it doesn't really matter as the phone will never utilise all those specs as at the end of the day it's just a damn phone. Apple is good to utilise a dual core and maximise its potential that's what other companies should do rather than marketing the biggest say (quad core) which they haven't even get it right across the board to utilise it thoroughly in the phone.

Can't believe we are at Internet war amongst phone but its all fun n jokes.

I just sold my S3 on Ebay so I'll be getting iPhone 5 Friday morning. :D:cool:

Welcome back to the good side! :D

I can't wait to get mine. I will be getting it on Friday but unfortunately have a Physics lab to go early in the morning. I just hope they won't sell out. I didn't preorder since I was already late and both Apple and Att's website said 2-3 weeks. It was either that or next Friday and I couldn't wait any longer. Hopefully I made the right call because I'm loving those geekbench numbers!

It indeed doesn't need 2GB, JVM always consume more resource. Also, just as you said Android is true multi tasking, it need more memory to run background tasks.
If iPad 3 only get 1GB ram, there is no point for iPhone 5 to get 2GB ram.
