So, if you get a scratched one, do you have to wait a month to get a replacement? I got mine through AT&T

I went with Black, and it's out for delivery as I type this. If it is scuffed up, I will be calling AT&T for a replacement!!

Where would we stand in say a weeks time if there's scuffs on a previously faultless phone and you're already a week into your new contract? Would it be possible to cancel said contract or ask for a replacement handset?

So do you guys think Apple will do anything about this? I can't imagine them even admitting that something's "wrong"...

If this turns out to be a real widespread problem, why wouldn't Apple take action? I would think it would be in their best interest to do so. From what I have read on here (while lurking for many months), Apple (overall) has a fine reputation when it comes to customer service.

Unless the scuffed phone impedes ones ability to use the service as outlined in the contract, there is no foundation (in my opinion) for a customer to ask to be let out of his or her contract.

Look, folks, buying an apple-anything is like buying a new car. You live in absolute dread of the first ding you get on it, but you know it's going to happen. And when it does happen, you'll scream and curse and jump up and down..., and then get on with life.

Or try this: http://www.senacases.com/apple/iphone-5-cases/ultraslim/

I've had one for my 4S from day one last december, and my iPhone still looks brand new.

Well sweetheart, if you got to see the thread itself you would have seen the overall tone of the thread. I am sorry I could not type slower so you could understand. When you get a chance you should check out the rules of this site newbie and next time you want to call me a name, make it something better than "dumbass." :p

Translation: You don't know the answer to my question.

That's what I'm going to do. Scuffed or not. I was afraid of this from day 1 and thought about going white but I liked the black overall. Mine is also out for delivery. It will be going back later today in the same shipping box it came in. And yah, I'm going to have to wait a month. Oh well.

Black iPhone question

I apologize to any of you who are going to get aggravated at "another black iPhone thread".

That being said I have a question that I assumed might warrant a separate thread.

Assuming this issue is real, and all signs point to that it may very well be a real problem...how do you think apple will respond? I mean they have a reputation for high quality products, and I am willing to bet they don't want to tarnish that image.

If one wants to replace their black phone with a white, with supplies being as limited as they are, do you think stores will order you the swap out?

I am just kind of curious to how this will play out. I am not OCD...and every launch of every apple product you see people nit pick the hell out of the new product. But this issue seems a bit less petty, and is something that would bother myself...after having paid a high premium for the device.

Other manufacturers (samsung, for example) would get slammed for this as well. Even if said manufacturer (example: samsung) is known for making a cheaper feeling device...this type of cosmetic issue would fly.

I am just curious to hear other peoples thoughts.

Thanks

For most people, that is true. However, what is being discussed here, is the appearance of possible quality control issues (at some point), before a customer even has the ability to take their vehicle for a test drive.

First u said it was 30 boxes in Germany..now it's 8.
Listen bro, do u realize how rediculous u sound. Take a step back and take a breath. The phone hasn't even been out for 24 hours.

Oh I did? you quite sure about that, considering that was my first post in this thread.

Yeah, it's not been out for 24 hours - if this is an issue, there's a chance it could look much worse in 24 hours.
It's not "rediculous" to expect a £700 phone to be pristine, especially out of the god damn box.

Fair enough... but there are coming with dings right out of the box! That's not cool.

You have to look on the bright side. Every time my phone gets damaged through Apple's fault I see as an opportunity for a brand new free phone. In this instance, you'll be getting a free phone every month.

Take them to the cleaners, buddy.

Solid point haha. It will force them to fix the issue and probably replace any phone bought during the first week or however long
