I think my 4 came with one. But it generally hasn't mattered, since when I needed it I generally didn't know where it was. Bending a paperclip is my normal approach. I only need it now if I want to test my SIM in my previous phone.

ALL iPhones sold outside the US come with this tool. I have four of them.

In the US, only those sold without a SIM-card do so far as I know.

Anyone with a US iPhone 5 that came with the sim ejector tool?

Some dude that I sold the iPhone 5 to wants it, and I'm trying to tell him that iPhones do not come with the sim ejector tool.

I'm well aware of using a paper clip, or using a needle, or a push pin, but the person wants the "original" Apple sim ejector tool. I'll probably just buy him an ebay sim eject tool for 33 cents.

My envelope didnt even have the tabs that the sim tool is placed on.

I had one of these from my 3G on my keyring, and it disappeared one day. Now paper clips meet their senseless dooms whenever I need to eject.

Sorry Guys You Are WRong. You probably just did not see it...

As you see on the pic above its like almost hidden. I was going to throw away my 2 iphone 5 pamphlets and my son was like...."Oh look at this lil tool thing." Then when I looked at all of my other phones... sure enough they were there. They put it in an odd place. Average eyes would not even see it.

Why did you unbury this old thread from 2012 just to say "Your Wrong"?

Anyway, in the US Apple only shipped the SIM Card Ejector with the the 3G and 3GS (original iPhone didn't, TMK) and now only ships them with the unlocked devices and maybe the T-Mobile version.

Outside the US, however, I believe Apple has always shipped an ejector with the iPhone.

Dude wants the original Apple one. Which is bogus and ridiculous. The best that he gets is one off of ebay and that's as far as I am willing to go.

Since the U.S version never came with one I certainly wouldn't buy him one either I don't care how cheap they are. If he wants one that bad tell him to buy one himself.

Seems like that was probably already settled about 1.5 years ago now.

AFAIK only select countries had iPhones where the SIM Ejector tool didn't ship within the box.

I've had an iPhone 3 through iPhone 5s in the UK and so far they've all been inside the packaging.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Verizon's CDMA model exclude the tool?

Obviously you didn't read my above post. iPhones sold in the US have not come with SIM ejectors since the 3GS unless you get an unlocked phone.

Verizon didn't get the iPhone until Feb 2011 when the VZW 4 came out. So no, Verizon iPhones (regardless if the have a SIM card or not) never came with an ejector.

I used my wife's work name tag for my 5. I got a refurb 5 a couple days ago as a warranty replacement and it came with the tool.

IPhone 5. In the US market, Sprint, Verizon and AT&T do NOT come with a Sim removal tool. Period.

You are wrong. Period. ;)

I have two iPhone 5 boxes from AT&T ordered online via Apple's website. Both came with the tool.

For what it's worth, my wife and I have had two 3G, two 4, two 5, an iPad 3rd gen (ATT), and iPad Mini (VZW), and two iPad Airs (VZW), all included the tool.

A few Verizon iPhone 5 phones that I've ordered directly from Verizon in the last year or so didn't come with any tools (I even double-checked everything in the box when I later read about people having these kinds of tools).

All of our iPhones have been AT&T ordered from Apple online. The iPads are the only Verizon devices that we have had.

Odd. My 5 came with one, and it wasn't the 'liquid metal' type either. It was a formed piece of metal like a wire from a paper clip, bent in the same shape as the original liquid metal shape. It was an unlocked phone, but I had thought that Apple was using the liquid metal cast ones and was surprised to see the shaped wire one...

Gads, yes! This is an ancient thread. I didn't look at the dates until you mentioned it. Plus it's a silly thing to argue about to begin with...
