iPhone 5 Due for Release in September-October Timeframe?

You are going to have a lot of iPhone 4 early adopters this summer coming up on 2-year upgrade eligibility looking for a new phone. Some may want to wait for an iPhone 5, but some may be looking to upgrade to the new hotness. Android makers have an opportunity here to gain a small foothold. I myself will wait, but I am not happy.
8 Months is concidered a "Short lifecycle" because Apple ususally gets Apple Products that are similar but newer later than 8 months.

it was called 3G because of the network it ran. the next iPhone could likely be iPhone 4G or iPhone LTE. although iPhone 5 would be nice and so many people are still Googling "iPhone 5"

Honest question, why are we calling this the iPhone 5?

The iPhone 4 was called the iPhone 4 because it was the 4th iPhone and following the same pattern, it should be the iPhone 6.

Except that it wasn't the "3" series. It was the "3G" series, as in "3G" cellular technology, not 3rd iPhone. Because it wasn't the 3rd iPhone.

An excellent point. Although they might be able to get away with unofficially switching to using the release year, like the mac lines. I'm just speculating though. It's fun to think about.
Does anyone else think it's funny that the comments have turned into a naming discussion?
I think the next one will be called iPhone 4GS.

Maybe the iPad LTE instead of iPad 3 as well.
But I just love the Analysts. Apple can call the next iPhone or iPad whatever the heck they want. But if Apple calls the next iPhone the iPhone 4GS instead of the iPhone 5, they'll all downgrade Apple's stock and say that Apple 'couldn't release the iPhone 5 and is delaying it'. It's such nonsense.
I think Apple used the name '4S' because it has the same form factor as the iPhone 4, plus it doesn't get all the late-coming iPhone 4 buyers upset (like new Verizon customers), as they're not as envious over an iPhone 5.
Whatever. I'm amazed it's such an issue.
Maybe Apple should brand the next iPhone the Magical OMFG Extreme Fire iPhone 6LTE Thunderscreamer. Then we'll see what the analysts would do with that.

Why did anyone think they would release a new iPhone so soon? It's always been at least a year.

I did the same thing, and I agree wholeheartedly.. Besides, I have SIRI now! Why would I want a new phone so soon?? 😕
