Looks silly. If the iPhone 5 looks anything like that it's going to flop badly.
Remember when Apple made a proprietary headphone jack on the first iPhone that wouldn't work with any standard headphone without an adapter?![]()
The whole up/down vote system is completely useless.
What This Means- the iphone 5 is in production
- the design has been finalised
- we might see a late summer launch. Maybe a bit earlier than october but later than WWDC. But, we might see a surprise appearance
- you'll be able to plug in headphones to the iphone 5
That would be a wonderful point if the numbers had ever once shown before that two year old iPhone owners make up a more significant chunk of launch day than 1 year old iPhone owners. It never has.
I'm not saying it will but the next iPhone could be released in Summer since iOS 5.1 supports LTE
I hope they dont realease early just to "compete"
If he did read, I'm sure he wouldn't read the Daily Mail of all news papers.
The upgrade to 3G was a pretty huge deal. At the time, many refused to take the iPhone seriously as it was only an EDGE phone. I think it's quite similar to the move to 4G, which, again is a generational change requiring new modem. They improved antennae design for better reception.
The 3G to 3GS saw the inclusion of a video camera where none had existed previously, it also brought GPS integration, more RAM if memory serves, far better blue tooth support. And, of course it was faster.
The 4 came with completely new screen, form factor, front facing camera, more RAM, better reception still. Clearly, the 4 was the biggest improvement yet.
The 4S didn't bring LTE, a different screen, any really new functionality (video image stabilization is one), and at the same time weighs more and eats more battery. THE major change for the 4S is the combined CDMA/GSM modem Apple wanted to reduce costs making two separate models...something few customers cared about, and isn't even marketed by Apple.
I stand by my assertion that the 4S appears to have been a fall-back option. Nothing wrong with having a fall-back, every company should have one, and if the 4S is such a phone, it helps explain a lot...like why they crippled Siri on older phones.
This is how it's suppose to look like.

At the bottom appears a circular zone, must be for the vibrator, like in the 4s, placement and the rest of it leads down the the phone, implying that the next iPhone is indeed going to have a 3.5 inch display, but possibly use toshiba's new incell technology. I think the metal part is part of the new micro sim card component though.. :/
you mean THE best iPhone yet. Of course.that because lte consumes more battery power, along with 3g switching enabled, the battery is most likely to be bigger than the previous one, or the processor will be made using 32 nm technology, from samsung. Other than that it will have a gyroscope, nfc chip, audio chip, probably an imoroved v6 series imagination technologies chip for support of better graphics, and overall more efficient use of power, making it one of the best iPhones yet, and the front facing module will be updated a bit maybe... lte video calling is a sure thing. Probably a new update of iOS will bring new things to the notification center and new face unlock features will be brought along.
Yep, I have a 4 and intended to go to the 5/4s, but decided not to after it turned out to have--what to me seemed like--only minor revisions.
I wouldn't mind something like this...![]()
That design will NOT work for the sole reason that you accidentally touch the display with your fingers.
There is a black frame on iPods, iPads and iPhones for a reason.
If there is no black frame around how would you be able to hold it without accidental input?
tell you the truth it is not hard for software to handle. It can look at were the odd contacts are and toss them out assuming they are just from holding the phone.
With a 5+ point sensor it is not hard to detect and toss out those touches from the sides. It just knowing to ignore some of the inputs. Done right the user will never notice.
I can't believe you guys are missing this!:
The new "mini dock connector" is not mini at all. It is the same size! The iphone is just FIVE INCHES wide now!!![]()
Saw your user name in my quote notifications, and immediately figured there wasn't a likelihood of your response being anything rational, sensible, or in any way correct. Seems you can tell a book by its cover....
My guess is that you're not very much aware of how significantly the "year after year" upgraders play a part in the launch day/weekend numbers?
The numbers frequently show that new customers make up half or less than half of new iPhone launches. The rest belongs to UPGRADES. Go deeper, and you'll find the largest single demographic are 12 month upgrades...meaning people who bought the last iPhone on launch, and are doing so again, and again, etc.
AT&T has allowed iPhone customers to upgrade every 12 months, assuming a monthly bill over $99. Many people are noticing, since the 4S upgrade, that this benefit is going away (presumably). If so, Apples sixth generation iPhone launch will be the FIRST launch not to exceed the previous launch day numbers. It's a guarantee. And Apple would be furious if that was allowed to happen.
