Got both cases and strongly prefer the feather over the snap. I had the snap on my 4 and loved it. Favorite case of all time but the snap for the 5 seems rushed. Its too thick and the ends extend too far past the phone. It made the phone feel much thicker than it really is.

Feather is much lower profile, great in the hand feel and about as good looking as you can get without going naked. I've not had any fit problems, nice and snug.

If you want minimal then I highly recommend the Feather.

Where is the first retail store you can buy the incipio feather at?

Looks like the Incase Snap is out of the question now. So what do you guys think about the SPG Ultra Air vs the Incipio Feather? Not sure which one to get now.

Just bought an Incase Snap Case today.

Scroll down for photos!!

Pros:
  • The front side has it's lips extended outwards, allowing you to place the phone face-down without the screen touching the table. This lip is extended on both left and right side. Unlike the iPhone 4 snap case which only had the 4 corners extended
  • Solid feel, it feels as though the plastic is very very strong
  • Smooth surfaces, very nice to hold - when I say smooth surface. I really do mean super smooth plastic / acrylic. I personally like it. But some people may feel that it gives no grip. Causing it to slip off their hands easily.
  • All corners are very smooth (non-sharp / rounded) except for camera cutout on the inside

Cons:
  • Too tight - very hard to remove
  • Too tight - insert/remove will shave off some plastics of the casing inside :mad:
  • Camera cut-out is sharp (on the inside)
  • volume button cut out isn't my preference
  • Very ugly Incase Logo & made in china text
  • Pretty thick (same thickness with an iPhone 4 without a case)

Where did you get it from, and please post up some pics. Thanks!

I bought it at a local jb-hifi store in Brisbane queen street

Update:
From these pics you can see that it's quite thick. Same thickness with my black iPhone without a case - the black one is my iPhone 4 (SGP Stenheil Oleophobic for 2 years)
My white iPhone 5 still has its original crappy plastic on with some parts sliced (waiting for my screen protector from SGP to ship)

Ugly Incase logo (it's embossed), ugly Made in china text
Some parts of the plastic are already scratched/sliced off by my phone because it's too DAMN tight

It does feel pretty solid and strong though, pretty such it can take some falls without damaging the phone BECAUSE I previously used the IncaseSnapCase for my iPhone 4 and my i4 has literally no damage at all despite dropping my phone so so many times. The case is in **** condition though, but at least my phone is well protected - for 2 years already. **** condition meant the casing being scratched, chipped off badly and cracking on all sides and corners.

I picked this because I think it would offer good protection and I would only accept a fully transparent case for my iPhone (no frosted)
But you're seeking for a thin case, this is not what you want.

How is the camera flash with it? I notice the Feather isn't as wide open as the Snap. I just ordered a Snap but it hasn't shipped yet...

I agree with the Pros & Cons here. Its a personal preference though on the face down issue. The snap has edge protection if you want it but it makes the case feel larger, because it is larger . For me, I valued minimalism and I'm comfortable with the risk of dropping right on the screen. I've dropped the i5 twice naked on stone & concrete and have a small barely noticeable nick on the antenna band. My old i4 was super abused (including a drop from a speeding bicylce) with an incase snap case that protected it.

So its personal preference. I recommend you try a few and return the rejects.

Dropped twice and barely noticeable?!

Does anyone know of a transparent case like the feather or snap case that is soft touch?

I really liked my iPhone 4S transparent mercury from Incipio, but they don't have that color available. :(

Yup. Loved that case. I think they will eventually come out with one.

I ordered the Spigen SGP Ultra Air Thin (soft clear) case since someone on this forum mentioned it. I never had any experience with the Spigen SPG brand, as I've always been using either Incase cases or something from SwitchEasy. I avoided going with the typical route, which is the Snap from Incase due to the negative feedbacks here. Haha.

Anyway, I will post photos and provide my feedback as soon as I get to my package (already delivered and at home).

Waiting on your pics and review bro! By the way, is the texture of the Spigen frost clear a matte feel or is it a sticky glossy feel? Thanks!

Spigen iPhone 5 Ultra Air Thin - Soft Clear

To give you a little background, I've had numerous thin cases, include InCases Snap Case and Incipio's Feather case. Up until now, my favorite has been the Incipio Feather in Transparent Mercury. I loved the way it felt and looked with the white iPhone.

With the iPhone 5, I'd been hesitant to put a case on it at all since I love the form factor and the back of the phone is awesome looking and I was hesitant to cover it up. With the limited number of cases and colors out there, I decided to try out the Spigen case. I've used their screen protectors on all of my devices since my iPhone 3Gs and feel they're one of the best. So why not try their case?

Case Feel:
I really like the feel of the case. I've had both glossy and matte cases and I really don't like how glossy plastic feels. Plus, I've found it makes the device more slick. This case is somewhere in between. It doesn't feel slick, nor does it feel rubbery. I think it kind of reminds me of anodized aluminum. It has a bit of a texture so it won't slip out of your hands, but not enough it gets stuck in your pocket. It feels nice!

Case Fit:
The case fits perfect. I had to remove my BSE body wrap, but that was to be expected. With that removed the case snapped right on - with zero wiggle room.

Case Color:
The color of the case is soft clear. The nice thing is it is a very lightly frosted, so you can actually see the iPhone through it. IMHO it's perfect.

Protection Level:
With any extremely thin case the protection level is going to be low. If you tend to drop your phone a lot, this is not the case for you. It is a case that will help guard against minor scratches from everyday use and it (might) protect from that accidental drop.

I guess rkdiddy beat me to it. haha!

I actually have the black i5, so the case didn't look at all great. It's best on the white i5 (as obvious on rkdiddy's photos). I actually sold it to my colleague this morning since he has the white model and we actually tried it on. I may just end up going with the Incase Snap (smoke black) since I prefer the soft-shell surface feeling. I'm not a fan of plasticy surfaces. The surface on the Spigen SGP Ultra Thin Air has some texture, so it's not acrylic smooth. This is a good thing since you won't have to worry so much about visible abrasion from normal use. The case is super thin. My guess is that if you drop your phone, the case will most definitely crack. It's got to be the thinnest and lightest case I've ever owned...and for the shortest period. lol!

Has anyone here tried SwitchEasy's Nude?

Where are you finding the Spigen iPhone 5 Ultra Air Thin - Frost? When I go to their website, they have a iPhone 5 Ultra Air Thin in soft clear, smooth white, and smooth black...there is no frost option.

Wow - I think I was making up my own color. :p

You're right - it's soft clear. I will update my post.

seems like a lot of great cases have been going down hill lately. i too was a HUGE fan of the incase snap black frost. I got a white phone this time around so wanted to go with the clear frost instead. still waiting for them to release though, but i got the SGP soft clear in the mean time, hope that fits well.

it looks like a lot of them were rushed out to be on the market as soon as possible but with poor quality control and fit.

More photos for the Smoke Snap Case?

The case next to it is an early production iPhone 4 black frost snap case. U can tell by it having a smaller camera cut out. All the later production 4 and 4s black frost snap cases I've seen with the larger cut out all have a purple tint to it like this 5 case. It looks really purple in these pics cuz of the bright light shining on it, but I guess it's not THAT bad in regular light. I'll post more pics tomorrow during the day for comparison

Do you happen to have more picture of the case during the day with different lighting? It doesn't look purple in this video review on YouTube..

I really like this case with my iPhone 4 (I had the early version of the case as well) and was so set of getting this for black iPhone 5 until I saw those photos......

What about the NEW incase Pro Snap Case??

The one in Apple stores yesterday says "enhanced grip" on the front of the package and looks like a clear back but with a black strip of thin rubber (?) on the sides. The guy in front of me grabbed the last one so I wasn't able to open it and get a better look.
