Mabye bigger screen size but same res for app compatibility.

That's what I'm thinking. The Retina is already razor sharp, it wouldn't be worth it to reproduce all your art for a 15% pixel gain or whatever it is. A little bit of extra display size would be a wonderful little improvement.

Maybe they'll use that extra space for notifications?!

Resolution is dots per inch. (many people confuse the number of pixels for resolution. It's not).

Apple itself calls the number of pixels "Resolutions". Then again, they also say things like "iPad is Productivity", so whatever.

Making iphone's screen 4" is not that easy, what would happen to the resolution? Would it stay the same? Won't the aspect ratio of the screen be messed up?

I don't know that I buy the claims this is fake because it's taken from an angle neither coplanar with the x or y axis of the screen and there is some tapering due to distance from lens changing.

In that context it's okay to call those "resolutions," because your screen dimensions are fixed. So by knowing how many pixels you have, you know the resolution.

Ok yes it's probably fake, but damn is it sexy. I would buy that. The bezel all around is definitely thinner compared to my iPhone 4, and it has a very professional look.

Maybe they'll keep the current iPhone for the midrange handset, 3GS as the low range, and have a 4 - 4.3 inch screened iPhone Pro, or whatever.

I dunno, seems like a good idea to me.

An iPhone with a screen that size would easily match some of the competition with the same screen size.

Doesn't look bad IMO.

Basically this. The reason that some people are saying that the phone looks shopped is because the photo wasn't taken directly overhead. The camera was off to the side, so the perspective skews the angles of the phone.

I respectfully disagree. If "resolutions" was strictly for density, Apple would express them in terms of 160 dpi, 180 dpi, etc. When does Apple ever provide an intermediate piece of information when the final product is more accurate/useful?

IMO Apple does sometimes use "Resolutions" to mean size, regardless of whether or not the information is used to calculate density.

Judging by the crooked appearance, I have come to the conclusion that this is, in fact, fake.

It's funny because I had spoken like a gentlemen rather than just saying "fake". Give me your money.

The wonderful thing about flat objects is that they have two sides and can be easily flipped over.

Would that make the bottom bezel straight and the top crooked?

The bottom is presented at both a different distance and angle than the top. The camera appears appears to be oriented to the top left of the bezel taken at an angle on all axes.

Wow MacRumors, you've done it again. This is so obviously fake that a 5 year old could spot it. Maybe there's 5 year olds running this site. Time to exit here and visit sites that are not just posting EVERYTHING that ANYBODY says.
