Can one of you guys who picked up vzw phones verify that they are unlocked? They store manager told my folks that it's device-only but locked. I was pretty sure all vzw phones are unlocked regardless. But it'd be nice if some of you guys can confirm. Thanks.

Picked-up my iP5 Verizon, it's unlocked, am using an AT&T nano sim card (got it at AT&T B&M) for a week now.
 
I got my "We Are Ready for You" email letting me know my order is ready for pickup, but I don't see anything in there about needing to pick it up within 24 hours. :confused:

I'm going to call them to confirm this, because the store is an hour-and-a-half drive away and would really rather not drive up today if I don't have to.
 
I just got the email that its ready for pick up...Im just calling to make sure....woot woot!!!

:EDIT: Cant pick it up now because they dont activate att and verizon after 11pm.

I dont know who you talked to, but I went at 2:30am and was back home by 3:30 with my shiny new iPhone 5 activated perfectly.

Cool! I just came home from picking mine up. Opened my sexy black iPhone and first thing I see AND the genius is a huge dent underneath the home button. Before I could even say anything he said he'll get another. But I asked for a white so he won't have to keep opening up boxes of black iPhone 5's. White is flawless....Im super happy!!!

You have more than 24hrs since you've actually paid for it--it's not a reservation.

I had them opened my flawless black iP5. Great thing it's perfect the first time as am afraid that Apple store did not have an extra black 64 GB at that time.
 
do they activate it in store?

i'm trying to use a family member's line for the upgrade, which i've heard means Verizon won't be able to move it to my number.

anyone have experience with this?
 
just picked up my reservation and had to go through 3 phones to get a near flawless one.

first one had some scraping on the volume rocker (+) and what looked like glue alone one of the sides, which made it appear as if it wasn't built correctly.

2nd one had a huge chip on the bottom right above the speaker as well as a tiny nick on one side.

make sure you guys inspect while you're at the store. also by the way, I got mine at Pasadena CA and they apparently had a decent sized shipment for walk ins. There was a line and from what I saw all had a ticket to get a phone.
which probably also explains why I was able to go through 3 phones.

yes, the best idea is to just call them. this is an in-store pick up of a purchase, so they can't simply give your product to someone else. apparently how long they hold your item can vary store to store. the store I picked mine up said they'll hold it for 2 weeks. I had ordered some iphones throughout the week, but only had time to pick them up this weekend no problems.
 
Picked up my flawless black iPhone this morning! They also had a bunch of lightning cables too so I got one as well.

OK, I just called and they told me I had one week to pick it up, which is great news for me, personally. Apparently it is different with every store.

white 32 GB iP4 -> black 64 GB iP5 Verizon (all-around super upgrade for me)

iP5 is becoming my most beautiful and favorite gadget of all-time!
 
You guys are lucky, I've been trying to get a 16GB VZW White for about a week now in LA area without luck...maybe tonight? :(

A questions to those who have done the reservation online the last couple day: what week build have they been providing? Week 39? 40?

Also, of any one reserved a phone to exchange their original iPhone 5 (i.e. change color, increase GBs) please share how that went. I want to exchange my white for a black but trying to wait until some better QC is in place.

I got AT&T. What time did you call?
I arrived around 10:05 and the line was to up to around Abercrombie, not too long.

I tried to ask the first guy who helped me how many they got but he wouldn't budge. He just said quite a few and was surprised they got this shipment.

2nd person who helped me was also surprised as I told her I've been calling everyday and kept getting told no.

When I left the store around 11am, the first guy in line was still the first guy in line though. But as I walked by the last person he was holding the white card, so I assume they all had one.
 
1 and a half more hours for those who did not get one yet. Rumor has it you may not have a problem tonight if your in New York City Area.

Plus I saw personally multiple boxes of iPhone 5's being brought into the Grand Central store that were still sealed in the brown shipping boxes. What carrier, I have no idea to that effect.
