Been trying for a week for a Black 32GB VZW in/around Atlanta. Hit the jackpot tonight at the Lenox Square store, and interestingly it was available at about 9:55. Go figure. Thanks for the camaraderie 🙂

Been trying for a week for a black 32 g Verizon in Phoenix all week. Friday night I had one in my cart at the gilbert San Tan location (right by me) but I apparently took too long at checkout because it was gone before I completed my order. Was able to find a black 64g in Tucson though and picked up today. Worth the drive!

Has anyone been successful at ordering a new contract AT&T through the apple store for in-store pick-up and returning and rebuying it as a device only? Was it a big hassle to cancel the contract and activation fee in the apple store? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it sucks. oh well - I have my 32GB Black Verizon one for myself since launch day - the wife just wants an iPhone now. I ordered one through Apple's site for Nov 1-5 delivery...I've just been trying every night to get one locally so I can get it sooner and cancel the online order. But until the online order ships, I'll be trying every night.

Does anyone know if you can change your method of payment in store? (multiple cc's etc)
My verizon contract is up today but still saying not eligible to upgrade on the Apple site. Anyone else have this same issue?
Is the Reservation system only good for phones when using upgrade and signing a 2 year contract or does it also work to buy phones at full price?

I have been waiting for my phone I preordered on the 14th... still have yet to get it.

I gave up on the Apple Store reservation system and just started calling all the local places that sell iPhones like Radio Shack, Verizon Wireless stores, Kiosks, etc. Found a lot of places having AT&T and Sprint in stock, but I needed Verizon. I got lucky with Walmart. They had two Verizon 16GB iphone 5's, one white and one black. I picked up both yesterday.
Just call around first thing in the morning and then again mid afternoon which is typically when FedEx and/or UPS delivers.
My family is set with three 5's and one 4s. For some reason my daughter likes the 4s more than the 5. She says it fits better in her pocket since it's not as tall. Oh well.

I just tried the Apple store in Indianapolis tonight for chips and giggles and see what they had, if anything, and it gave me an error it couldn't look up my account with AT&T but asked if l wanted to continue so I said sure. (This is using the Apple Store app ) Selected the 32 GB white iPhone and it said they had one for me and gave me a reservation number. I'm quite surprised as this the first time they've had this model in stock in Indianapolis. I have found a couple iPhone5 models in Indianapolis at Best Buy and Walmart but they were always the black model or 16 GB which I did not want so I am very happy to find this I just hope that it is real deal. If so I will be a very happy camper.

a bunch of Whites appeared in SoCal stores. About 5 stores had them @ around 9:58pm. Didn't see any black phones, though. I so wanted a black32 and have been waiting for one, for the past 2 weeks. I got a 32White tonight. Hopefully I won't miss the slick black phone I've been eyeing since launch. 🙂
