No love for the Midwest

again, no 16gb Black verizon phones in MN, WI, or IL...Come on Apple!

just snagged a white 16gb about 30 minutes ago..

I feel lucky because I reserved one this past friday but then cancelled the order.. thought they wouldn't get another one for a few weeks.. but they had one tonight on a sunday? weird

Does anyone know if your upgrade gets used when you order one for delivery? Or can you do that, and keep trying to reserve one/find one and then just cancel the order for delivery?

Speaking from AT&T experience, ordering a phone for delivery uses your eligibility and you will not be able to place another order until you cancel the first one.

The first time I cancelled an order my eligibility was immedately returned to me. The second time I cancelled AT&T wanted to wait three days to return it.

Question on upgrading second line/switching to primary line

Hi, I think I saw something about this earlier on the forum. However I cannot really find the answer to this. I was wondering if I can upgrade my wife's phone using her upgrade with AT&T and then switching the phone to my primary line which is my old iPhone has anybody ever done this before?
To be clear I have AT&T my phone as the primary with an iPhone 4S and my wife has an old dumb phone, both on the same account. Her phone is eligible for full upgrade and mine is not, just want to know if I can upgrade her phone but let her keep her old phone and put the new iPhone 5on to my account, my phone number? Thank you very much in advance !

yes. upgrade her line. pick it up. go to AT&T and have them give you a nano-sim to use your line in the iphone, and a regular sim to use your wife's line in her dumb phone. don't forget to have them remove the data plan from her line.

dangit i hesitated on the 64gb black att phone at south coast plaza and the grove and they were gone in a minute. hopefully someone else on here got those. still holding out for the 32gb black i guess

yup, no 32 black at&t in socal tonight, hopefully tomorrow! in the meanwhile settled for another 64 white

------

btw, since they probably didn't get any new shipments today, does this means that they probably had these iphones available in store for walk-in purchase???

Nothing tonight, gonna just order from AT&T. It's not like I wanna drive to Portland during the week anyway.

Can someone explain how the process works?

Do they become available by 10PM EST or local time (PST in my case)? I've been trying since Monday where I log on by 950PM PST. I finally saw some Black 32GB for Verizon pop up in Los Angeles (Grove and Glendale) today but I was too slow to order.

That's exactly how it works.

"We’re sorry, but due to limited availability, we are not accepting iPhone reservations at this time. Please try again later.
"

Been having this for days at uk online reservation.
So frustrated.

I've been trying for about a week to get a white 64 GB unlocked. Not sure why, because my $20 Nokia is more than adequate for the minimal calls I make and receive and I have a 3G iPad. Maybe I'll give to my mother after I play around with it for a while.

Finally got a 32GB White VZ phone on Friday night. Picked it up Saturday at Tysons Corner in McLean Va. It was the only store in the area that showed as having the one I wanted.

This one was for my wife...now I'm thinking of returning my Galaxy S3 and getting one too...

Tried last night at 10pm and none in stock for New Haven. Just called and she said they had some phones but there were about 30 people in line when they opened and all the phones are gone...

Just an FYI:
If you've tried to purchase an iPhone 5 several times and failed like I have, you might find multiple hard inquiries in your credit report which could affect your credit score. I found that AT&T ran hard inquiries for the 3 times that I tried to order an iPhone 5 for pickup at a store the next day because I had to go through the credit check before I could get to the order screen and choose which store to pickup from. Unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough and ran out of stores within an hour from where I live to pick up from.
To clarify, this is via the Apple Store online.

Just a little FYI I know this won't help for people that live far away from an Apple store but if you live close to one and don't mind possible wasting your time it might be worth your while to just show up at the store at opening time. Both apple stores in the Galleria and Baybrooke in Houston told me that they were only selling the phone via reservation however, when I finally managed to reserve one and went to pick it up I saw they were actually letting people walk in and buy them as well. Might be worth your while if you are having terrible luck with the online reservation like I was.

This may only work with certain apple stores. I tried this several times and the employees told me their shipment arrives in the late morning (11a-12p) as opposed to prior to opening time (10a). Or you can do what I did and call the store before hand to check the stock.
