wow, I had one in cart in So Cal and when i went to checkout i'm not sure what happened but i submitted the order then i realized it was for delivery. =/

LAME! I had a Verizon 32GB Black iPhone 5 in the cart, but by the time i put in my CC security code and clicked submit, it was "Out of Stock"!

Sorry to hear =/ When I was ordering mine I had my CC number, security code, and expiration date in a text document opened on the side so I could just copy my cc # and quickly type the other two, might help speeding up the process

Just a little FYI I know this won't help for people that live far away from an Apple store but if you live close to one and don't mind possible wasting your time it might be worth your while to just show up at the store at opening time. Both apple stores in the Galleria and Baybrooke in Houston told me that they were only selling the phone via reservation however, when I finally managed to reserve one and went to pick it up I saw they were actually letting people walk in and buy them as well. Might be worth your while if you are having terrible luck with the online reservation like I was.

Omg, i have been looking for an iphone 5 for the past 2 weeks at the apple store but they were all sold out. I hope what you say is true!

You guys should consider using 1password to fill in identify info and CC info in web forms. It's gold.

If you have a credit card saved in your Apple store account, all you have to enter to complete the order is the card security code. From “in stock” to order confirmed takes about 10 seconds.

I always am weary about using 1password. I just feel like I am going to have all these wonky passwords and one day something will happen to the 1password app haha.

Finally decided I was ready to get my white 32gb ATT model last night ... went to Apple store at 10 and reserved it for pickup at Reston store. Got notification this morning about 90 mins before store is set to open. Easy peasy.

Finally got an AT&T black 32gb in Chicago burbs!! Glad I decided to cancel my white order from a few days ago and wait it out :)

I fell asleep last night so I couldn't even check the Chicago area. I will try again tonight. The wife has given me permission to use her line to upgrade until she returns to work then she will use my early upgrade on my line.

ID and sometimes the credit card. It depends on the specialist actually. There was another person picking up something and she asked for the credit card to see if it matches the last 4 digits then asked for ID.

Ah... the reservation page says to bring the same credit card. Didn't know that was optional. thanks for the info.

Why would you have wonky passwords?

You can still set all the passwords to whatever you want. 1password just keeps them in one place.

I guess that is just what I thought the main purpose of it was. So you could have very secure passwords that you do not have to remember. Didn't know about the credit card info being stored, which would be nice instead of having to actually get my wallet haha.

10pm ordering worked for me

So I walked into my local ATT store Sunday and asked when will they be getting the iPhone 5 again and the salesman told me I can order and ill get it in 2-3 weeks. I read that there were a few that did the 10 pm ordering online and were able to pick up the next day. I in no way wanted to wait so long so I attempted this last night and was able to order for pick up today. I just got an email saying that my device is ready for pick up. I'm getting a white 64GB. Yeah I know, cool story =)

i did the same thing on monday the 25th. picked up next day after reading about this whole pickup thing on twitter. worked perfectly for me too.

It looked like it was going to work for me but when the Apple store attempted to complete the purchase there was a computer glitch on AT&T's side that made it look like I was attempting to get two upgrades on my single phone account. The reservation (purchase?) I made at 10 PM the night before counted as my upgrade so when the Apple store scanned the iPhone box and attempted to complete my purchase it hit the AT&T website again and looked like I was trying to upgrade again. It was denied. The purchase could not be completed. After several hours of phone calls to AT&T from me and the Apple staff, I had to leave the store empty handed. The Apple employees really did their best to get it fixed - so props to them.

The final resolution was that Apple and AT&T submitted a cancellation on the 10 PM iPhone order to reset my upgrade eligibility and now I have to wait two days for the reset to clear. The manager of the Apple store was kind enough to say he would hold a phone for me to pick up in two days when the computers are finally reset.

Before I left another person arrived and had the exact same issue. I hope AT&T and Apple can work this out so it doesn't turn out to be a big problem for a lot of people.

There's no way to do a "device only" purchase ($649, $749, or $849) if ordering online for next day pickup, right?

Either do an upgrade or a new line. Then when you pick up the phone, have them ring it up, sign the contract, and return the phone. Returning breaks the contract and then you can buy the phone full price.

However - not every employee or store will do this. Some look at you like you're insane as they don't know how to do what you're asking. Others know it before you even say it. I've done this for two phones.

You get to decide if you want it to generate random passwords, or use your own.
I have a variety of passwords, all in 1password.
It also has my CCs and my bank routing info.
There's also a secure notes section where I have a few padlock combos stored.

One of the best features is how well it integrates with the browser. It's seamless. So it's a bit like storing all your passwords in the browser, but much safer.

You just reminded that I purchased this app and rarely used and now it's time to go back to it on my iPhone, iPad, and MB.

Southdale MN

Got a 16 black & white yesterday at 10:02PM from the Apple Store... Going to pick them up today...

Time for the daily "call any store in a 50 mile radius that may sell an iPhone"
