iPhone 5 Reservation at Apple Store

I'll assume this is true for AT&T, but not for VZW. I bought mine (VZW) online for full retail. No swap/return required.

I am going to guess and say that it is for opening a new account. For one, when checking upgrade status for an existing line they only ask for the last four of your social and I am pretty certain you cannot pull a credit check on that alone.

And if it thats not the case, then AT&T (and VZ or Sprint) would be opening themselves up to liability by pinging credit without the full permission/knowledge of the customer.

If you are an existing customer with no issues (past or present) there is no reason for them to pull your credit just to tell you how much they're willing to sell you a phone for.

are you logged on your account when you added the phone in your cart? if so, the next time you log on and click on cart, you should be directed back to the screen where it asks you to choose ship or pick up in store.

about 10 minutes before 10pm your time, make sure you select "pick up" and enter your zip in the pop up. and keep hitting "LOCATE" which refreshes the search.
I did this till about 10:05 and saw the "unavailable" change to "in stock" for about 3 stores.

also mentioned before to enable your express checkout before you go to your cart. this way you bypass entering your CC info other than the 3 digit security code.

Actually, I just left my local Apple store and the Eastern Regional Divisional Associate Manager of Operations & Stocking told me that there is a software glitch and anyone who orders any model iPhone 5 tonight between 10pm and midnight will actually receive a Samsung Galaxy III. :p:D:p
 
Just got my 32 gb Black Verizon at the Woodcliff Lake, NJ store. Guess I gotta get up early and drive the hour to get there...very excited!!! Good luck everyone!
