iPhone 5 Reservation at Apple Store

I ordered at the cube as well and I literally got an e-mail a few minutes ago saying that the order was ready for pickup ... so I imagine pickup is available right away. Not sure when its good until.
No stock around me....does that mean all the iPhones are gone, or is there still a chance I can get one walk-in tomorrow?
Where are you located? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe only the East Coast stores have updated so far, so you could always check back later tonight. Phones will only be sold to walk-ins after 6PM, if they aren't claimed by those who reserved them.
Walk-ins are doubtful. Went to a number of apple stores today and they made it seem like all of their stock is being reserved for the in-store pickups
This sucks. I don't remember it ever being this hard to get an iPhone. I checked for 64 GB right at 10... closest 30 stores had NONE. Doesn't make sense. I pre-ordered from Best Buy... I was the 3rd person to order. My 64GB didn't come in last Friday and they have gotten ZERO iPhones since last Friday. It's just never been this bad. Lame.
How long did it take you to receive that e-mail/place the order, I placed the order 20 minutes ago.. haven't gotten the e-mail
No that isn't true. The 9-to-5 Mac artcicle(later confirmed by apple) says you have up to 2 weeks since you are paying. It is not like just "reserving" like 4s was
Update: just checked order status, please pick up by 09/30 (so 5 days apparently)

I'd wait for someone to confirm, but if you look around these forums, I have seen several posts implying as much.

Yes, today it worked fine.
Managed to reserve a white 32GB AT&T at Bethesda Row. There were a few 16GB Black on VA (Tysons Corner) and only a few 16GB White on NJ. There were a couple 32GB White at the Montgomery Mall and Bethesda Row. The one available at Montgomery Mall disappeared in one minute, and I got one of the Bethesda, don't know if they have more.

I got the "Order is processing" e-mail at 10:05 PM right after I ordered.
Received the "We're ready for you" e-mail at 10:23 PM
Ok, hopefully I get it soon, received the order processed e-mail @ 10:28 -- so hopefully in the next 5-10 minutes...
Just to re-confirm, does this mean its available now for pick up? I know this store is 24 hours so it may work differently there.

What time was this? I started refreshing 5 minutes before 10pm est and didn't see anything in the Bethesda area.
I called our local store today and they said that for the next week or so stock will mostly be for nightly pre-orders only.
The e-mail I got suggests that I could literally go into the store right now and pick it up right now. There's no time limit or anything on the email.
dang I would go right now but I still haven't received the e-mail yet
but I tried to see maybe if I was too late and tried adding another iPhone of the same capacity/color and it was still available so this gave me a bit of confidence lol

I need to buy a phone off contract, at full price. If a store gets a shipment in, are they reserving all of them for the in-store pickup, or do they set aside a small percentage and make them available for walk-ins?
Anyone have the definitive word on this policy? I'm reading different things all over the board.
I know my store got some iPhones in tonight, so I am planning on going there early in the morning before the store opens. Is this a waste of time? Or should I go after 6 pm (which would not seem to help things if in-store pickup reservations are good for two weeks)
