The option shows after you are in check out and under your iphone order it will show an option for pick up or it should. It's a little tricky to see at first

Thanks - I just saw that you have to "add to cart" before it will give the option of picking up in-store.

Unfortunately it's now showing "unavailable for pickup" at my local store (Germantown, TN) and all stores within like 400 miles!

Being Sunday probably has something to do with it. Just try again tomorrow night.

Same problem here in South Florida, no inventory as far as Atlanta listed for the purchase / pick-up in store option.

Since it is Sunday, I did not really expect any inventory to be added until tomorrow "Monday" since Apple seems to only get deliveries only Monday - Saturday.

Best chance appears to be in-store Monday or wait until 10 PM Monday night for Tuesday's list.

so few AT&T units in SoCal.... was about to get another 64gb black AT&T... then it ran out before I could complete the order :|

Im thinking about just showing up at my local store in the morning....they HAVE to get some sort of shipment in the morning right? NOTHING was posted tonight for preorder.

Keep trying, I ordered one Friday night a few minutes after 10 and got it. They only had white. Put the one you want in your cart and have the fast checkout turned on, you have to fill out all your cc info in advance to do that. And at checkout they will ask again for the security code. Then at 10 just start trying to get one. I was trying for black but gave up and switched it in my cart to white and it went the first try.

Oh and I'm in Collierville so it was the Germantown store. Don't give up!

The lenox store in atlanta has had them every night, aside from last night. If you log on at right at 10, you should be able to grab one from that location.

That wasn't from last night though, i've been refreshing from 9-12 and nothing showed up for multiple models

I've been checking as well and I haven't gotten anything. I'm going to try to check at 9 2nite because I was able to check a little before 10 last week, but still struck out.

Something odd with dates....

I have been trying to get the 32G Black iPhone (AT&T) after realizing that my 16G is going to be a little too less for me, so I need to do an exchange.

I have been going through the 10pm Apple Store inventory check (in Cincinnati), only to be unlucky. Well a few minutes ago, I decided to change a few settings on my Apple Store app on the iPhone, and as I was going through in setting up my hopeful buy, there was an option to view availability at my local store (under the "Add Gifting Options"; not the "Pick up this item" option). When I clicked on the "pick up store" area, it brings up the availability being "November 6".

So does anyone know what this means? Would this mean that these specific stores won't have reservation based pickups available for the item until then?

That has nothing to do with the reservation system. That's the date you'd expect to receive your order the "regular" way w/o using the reservation system at all.

Anyone have any luck with the Lehigh Valley store in Whitehall? I only started looking Saturday night with no luck :-(

Apparently there is an issue with the Sprint system which prevents people who reserved phones through the apply store online reservations system last night can't actually leave the store with their phone. I have my order number, my receipt, the notification that my phone is ready for pickup and I've been sitting here for 2.5 hours waiting for the system to come back up. Apple's phone customer service reps couldn't even help. I don't understand why the system worked perfectly last night for apple to take my money - but won't work today for me to actually pick up my phone. No seems to know how long it's going to take either.. so I'll have to start my 2.5 hour car ride home soon, without my newly purchased iphone 5.:(

So frustrated.

I think looking on Saturday and Sunday are bad days for stock. I'm hoping there will be better chances tonight.

Is anyone leaving there with a phone? If you have all of your supporting docs, and assuming there are phones in the store, I would raise a little bit of a stink >:-(
Not good, and usually if the geniuses are not doing the right thing, AppleCare is terrific. Sorry.

I'm assuming you live in this area? I have to go drop off a tux after work today. I'll be right near the store. I wonder if it's worth stopping in to see if they have anything or if the ones coming in are put aside for the online "game"??

I've read about ten pages in and am asking that someone goes easy on me if this has already been answered, but is there any way to NOT get the subsidy when you reserve online? My closest Apple store is about 2 hours drive an I'm concerned that even if I know they got stock for the day they're been sold out early in the morning when I get there.

I'm available for the stupid "early upgrade" which is not a good option for me. I don't mind paying full price and then next year getting the full discount. It can be locked to AT&T because I'll fight with them next year when I'm just a month or two away from the end of the contract for them to unlocked it. I just want to be able to snag one. Anyone have luck with getting it through reservation?

Can I pay the $649 and then in store tell them I don't want the discounted price and pay the addition?

The answer is no for most people. But some have said that Apple has sold them some full price iPhones obtained through the reservation system. Most have failed. At least I did.

Reserve it on a new line tonight, if successful, CANCEL then PAY FULL price during pick-up. Make sure you have necessary funds for full price as the refund or credit for reservations may take a day or so.

I tried this and it failed. They would not let me do this. It was a BS reason. But it's a real hassle to return. They had to call in manually, wait on hold for awhile, and then they did not refund all of the money. They seemed not to refund a $36 upgrade fee. Just so you are warned.

That said, there are no rules. I'm sure you can get things done if you are persistent enough. No one inside Apple has any definitive word and stores do whatever they want to do.
