iPhone 5 Reservation at Apple Store

I've been trying since 9:45pm, and refreshing the page every 5 minutes. All I saw was "Unavailable for Pickup" in the NY area. Guess I'll try again tomorrow...and Friday...then Saturday..etc.

I had done this with both the website and the Apple Store app at various times, and in all cases both stopped me from proceeding with in-store pickup when there was no inventory. On a lark when I had a free moment, I tried again this morning shortly before 10am in the Apple Store app, and lo and behold, it allowed me to proceed, processed the credit card transaction, and sent me the 'processing' email. I was surprised but figured that something had just become available in the store.

Here's the rub: When I clicked on the order number in the 'processing' email to confirm its contents, the website indicates a pick-up date of ... Nov 8th.

Has anyone else seen this, and if so, what would you recommend I do? I'm not sure if I should cancel, whether it's a bug in the system, etc.

Any thoughts/wisdom appreciated.

This happened to me too around 8:30pm. Which carrier/iphone did you check out for? Mine was a 32gb black verizon.
 
The Apple website gave me the option to move forward at approx. 9:50pm. So, within the 5 minutes I had last refreshed the page, the VZ phones were not available.
 
Ok this doesn't make any sense. If the phones at the store are only for this reservation thing it makes no sense that no iPhones at all have shown up at any stores in Houston since Friday of last week.
 
This is strange, I was trying to check the availability of lightning cables and I noticed I still have my black AT&T 64 in my cart that I had already purchased this past Friday. It shows it at the full subsidized price, I wonder what would happen if I bought it?
 
I got one!

I finally got one! Ive been trying for about 7 days without any luck and finally found some in the chicago land area tonight. Picked up a at&t 32gb Black! Just received my processing email to pick up at Oakbrook,IL store tomorrow!!:D:apple::apple:
 
Finally found a phone in stock about 30 seconds after 10:00 PM in the CDT. If you are still looking for a phone through in store reservation, have the phone ready in the cart before 10, know your apple id and password, and have a credit card on hand. Good Luck!
 
I finally found one in the Milwaukee area as well. I wasn't able to get the white 16 I wanted, but found one in black at the Glendale store. I was a little freaked out when Apple's checkout confirmation showed shipping information, but I figure it's a good sign that they charged my credit card already.
