Hey all -
Weird thing happened to me today, didn't see anyone else describing this behavior. I've been checking each night at 10pm local time and hadn't seen a phone available. I had done this with both the website and the Apple Store app at various times, and in all cases both stopped me from proceeding with in-store pickup when there was no inventory. On a lark when I had a free moment, I tried again this morning shortly before 10am in the Apple Store app, and lo and behold, it allowed me to proceed, processed the credit card transaction, and sent me the 'processing' email. I was surprised but figured that something had just become available in the store.
Here's the rub: When I clicked on the order number in the 'processing' email to confirm its contents, the website indicates a pick-up date of ... Nov 8th.
Has anyone else seen this, and if so, what would you recommend I do? I'm not sure if I should cancel, whether it's a bug in the system, etc.
Any thoughts/wisdom appreciated.
