I was trying to reserver a 32gb White VZ phone tonight. My VZW password wasn't working when I entered the info on the apple.com/retail/iphone site. After a few tries I got this message...

************************
Dear Apple Customer,
Your iPhone has been reserved and your reservation number is: XXXXXXXXXXX

We will email when we’re able to reach the carrier systems. The email will include instructions to complete your order as well as the return link. You will have 24 hours from the time the email is sent to return to the Apple Online store to proceed with your order. If you do not complete your purchase within 24 hours, your reservation will be canceled.

You may check the status of your reservation at any time by visiting buyiphone.apple.com/status.

Thank you,
The Apple Online Store

Does that mean I'm good?? Any idea?

I've got that message before. It didn't do any good and a reservation was lost and an email never sent. I even called Apple to no avail.

got a black 32 ATT from palisades but have to travel all the way from NYC to get there. But beggars can't be closers :D

Finally was able to order a 16GB ATT Black in Miami, FL .... waiting for my confirmation pick-up email now :D

Started searching at 9:45 when the "pick up" button stopped being grayed out.. No dice :(

You should of kept trying....All Nyc apple stores had at about 10:02..I had the same problem and kept refreshing and got a 16gb

I just called Verizon, and they transferred me 5 times, and then told me to call apple. I called apple. They said ummm a lot. Spoke to a supervisor, and then told me to try to order at 10pm again, and if I fail, call apple and they will order for me. Which seems dubious at best.

I had a similar experience when I called Verizon after it would no longer let me add to cart on the Apple.com site and select in-store pickup. Got transferred multiple times and in the end VZW rep. said my only option was to order directly from them over the phone which sucks because the soonest they said they'll ship is 10/26. She said my credit application was "stuck" because I had submitted it too many times...I've only been checking the last 4 nights
Base on your experience quoted above I'm not even going to bother calling Apple

I just tried to prep my cart, and was not able to. So I'm figuring calling at 10pm my time will be moot. But I'll try.

I'm sure in my case, I was clicking through the annoyingly high number of hurdles to order from the SoHo store while the other stores were going green...

Good luck to anyone else trying to get one. My advice is try right at 10 even if you see the option to select your store come up sooner. Mine didn't show up until 10:01.

Got my ATT 16gb iP5 in white at the Lehigh Valley PA store!!! WOO FREAKIN HOO!!! Can't wait!!! And the best part is im DRUNK!!!! I DID IT!!!!!!

how long do they hold it for? I found a 32GB one at a location an hour away from me so I can't make it out there right away.

Ohkay sooo I was able to get a 16 Black i5 but because I was so excited and trying to hurry before it was already put as I completed my order as a guest I reviewed the completed order and saw I typed my billing address wrong. Instead of "2262" I put "262". Now will that matter at all since I used my debit card for store pick up?

Got two tonight in S Fla at the Falls... One black and white 16gb. Two orders in less than 4 min!

I can finally sleep at night.

I tried multiple zip codes all over the place and no VZWs that I could find anywhere. . . Either Apple is making more AT&T or VZW is VERY popular . . .

I don't think theyre shipping as many VZW...everbody I've talked to said they haven't been on any shipments.
