To start off many android phones have as much battery life as an old person can hold off using the bathroom. Or at least when using the functions that are supposed to be better than the iphone.

Next it is pointless to compare CPU as it is like comparing mac-book to a dell processor. Different utilization, so the 1Ghz A4 in the iphone 4 may still seem faster then the dual core 1Ghz. Comparing it to other droid phones would make better sense.

1080P is pointless as a matter of a fact you need a 24 inch tv to see the difference between 560p, 720P, 1080i, 1080P, 1400p. And you need to be about a foot away. Even then most of the differences would be quality, color, saturation, and clarity.

On 2 hands you can count the number of movies recorded using actual 1080P footage, since 90% of all 1080P movies are simply digitally enhanced from 720P to imitate 1080P. The dark night is the only one I can think of.

It will be at least another 5-10 years before majority of films are recorded on 1080P and it is actually worth it. And if you keep your phone for that long you should probably put away your over-sized 80s brick phone. And if you can see the differences on a cell phone, your alter ego is probably seen in comic books.

Last THERE WILL NEVER BE AN IPHONE KILLER, because the iphone is an icon for smart phones, touch phones, pop culture, even as the pinnacle of technological advancement and society. There may be better, faster, smaller, edgier competitors but this phone has social representation and importance. There is no cult following like the droid has, it is followed by society as a whole.

Exactly. Dungeon Defenders will run better on a Tegra2 chip. Since you are willfully ignorant about specs, there is no reason to discuss this with you. You have the logic of a 13 year old Apple fankid. Dungeon Defenders is a different game from Epic Citadel, but they both run the same Unreal engine. I don't understand why you're even comparing the two, when theyre both made by different developers. And be rest assured that Tegra2 will outperform as its a graphics heavy chip. The PowerVR SGX you have in your iPhone4 will not compare to the Tegra2.

I don't have to prove your idiocy when you make statements such as

Busier game. Yeah. you got me there.
I'm not denying that the Tegra 2 is faster than the relatively slow GPU found in the iPhone, but I'm saying that Dungeon Defenders' graphics aren't all that impressive. They can definitely push some better graphics than that with the Tegra 2. I used Epic Citadel as an example of how a worse GPU pushes better graphics, essentially blaming the developers for not doing a better job. I never said the Tegra 2 was worse.

Calling me an idiot and a fanboy when you yourself seem to misunderstand everything I say really makes you seem like an immature person. I tried to justify the game's worse graphics by the fact that it's a busier game. Busier meaning more NPCs, more AI complexity, more objects in the map, etc. I don't know what point you're trying to prove about saying that it's an 'idiotic statement' when the only problem here is that you have a little filter in your head that goes through the post and twists it in your favor.

Go troll somewhere else, guy. All you're doing is putting words in my mouth to tip the odds in your favor. The facts are Dungeon Defenders looks like crap for something to show off using the Tegra 2. They could definitely do better. That's the entire point of my posting in this thread.

EDIT: I thought I recognized your rather unique disruptive posting style somewhere else. Turns out you're the same person who's trolling the other thread some guy started about Android and iOS. Facts are I've used the phones from all big players and that's how I made my choice. I didn't go to carrier stores and try them; rather, I bought them myself. Similarly, I'm aware of the true potential behind Tegra 2. I wasn't saying it's a bad GPU, but that's the way you intercepted it for some odd reason. Oh, and I don't have an iPhone 4, I'm still stuck with this crappy 3G.

CLIFFS: We'll see a bunch of phones come out with new technology, a few buyers will keep posting on these websites about how much better they are, and nobody outside those walls will care. We've historically seen this with so many smartphones that were considered "iPhone Killers" by the blog population, and have barely put a dent in. Topics like these should only be started AFTER the devices come out and there is accurate sales data

If topics like this came up after the phone was launched than what would be the point of mac rumours and other tech forums?

Nvidia is going to make a big splash next year with the Tegra 2. Imagine the Microsoft Zune HD runs silky smooth over most current phones using Snapdragons? And it used an older Tegra chip. Tegra is just far more power efficient. The next generation of cell phones will have usage time of 20-24 hours over the 6-10 hours we currently get just browsing on WiFi. That's why I pay attention to alot of Android phones. The OS may not be as fluid as iOS, webOS, or WP7, but they continue to push hardware much faster.

Could you post the link to where you got the image?

iphone killers come and go, and many of them _are_ superior to the current gen iphone in some aspects. 4g phones have faster speeds, the new nokia seems to have a better camera, windows phone 7 seems to have really nice social integration within its os, many android handsets have _huge_ displays.
All comes down to personal preference. (i don't believe i'd ever want a 4.5inch handset, for example)

about this tegra stuff, here's my thoughts.

lmao

Man, all i see are a bunch of insecure iPhone owners. So the hell what if theres true next generation phones coming this year? All the phones we've been dealing with including the iPhone series, Android phones, ALL derive from the same core chip, the ARM Cortex-A8.

Does one honestly believe that engineers are developing dual core phones without the thought of battery consumption? The whole idea of dual core phones (ARM Cortex A9) is to lengthen battery life.

Had the next iPhone leak mentioned it having a dual core processor with a high end graphics component, I would be all over it. The fact that so many users are so adamantly defensive/insecure BECAUSE its not iPhone is saddening.

For every high end phone thats released on Android, Jobs and his cohorts are working the extra mile to keep its iPhone series as competitive. The competition between Apple and Google is only benefiting us as customers.

The fact that people are complaining newer, faster, phones are coming out, I find a bit perplexing. Its how technology works. Moore's law. We also have to realize that most folks in the world are 'feature phone' users, or 'dumbphone' users. Theres still a large swath of the global population that will eventually join the smartphone world. Smartphone manufacturers dont' care as much about existing users, they care about the mass influx of new potential smartphone users that are coming through daily.

Oh please, stop pontificating...you've misconstrued the semantic of my post. I am a tech enthusiast and naturally want technology to progress forward. But at the same time i've learnt not to be excited about specs that look good on a Powerpoint slide or Press Release, i need to know the whole package is truly robust, works seamlessly together and makes sense.

Otherwise, i could care less.

The original Tegra was overhyped as the next best thing since slice bread and it turned out to be nothing to write home about and in fact inferior to it's competitors in almost every aspect.

I never said bigger isn't better, i said bigger isn't always better but maybe i should further clarify that to looking/sounding bigger doesn't always equate to better.

I'm insecure about certain things but i assure you a cellphone or any other tech product, past or future, is far from being one of them.

Wow, it seems that this whole forum is filled with troll-boys.

Seriously. A phone comes out with the fastest processor ever and amazing video recording capabilities and all you get is butt-hurt because its better than your phone that you locked yourself into a contract on.

This is why everyone else hates you guys. Well, I say LOL.

LOL, your phone isn't trendy anymore.
LOL, your phone has fallen behind in features
LOL, there is only one option if you want a phone running iOS
and LOL you have too much tunnel vision to realize when your money is buying you less and locking you in.

Just a couple of quick questions to fulfill my curiosity.

How old are you?

What kind of phone do you have?

To be honest I think most folk on this forum falls between the ages of 18-22.
This is the age group that tend to feel they need the new hottest tech phone
and is dazzled and mesmerized by new phone wizardry as oppose to simply being content with a decent smart phone that easily takes care of their needs. Smartphones are making a killing off these kids.
