If they can figure a way to keep it from interfering with the antennas, liquid metal. Reason most all phones have a plastic back, or in the case of HTC, aluminum and plastic. Gotta let the antennas breath.

Hmm, I would like it to be aluminium.
I remember that have read some news from macotakare.jp and ifunia news blog that the iPhone 5 will have iPhone 4 Shape, flat metal back, larger screen.
But Maybe We should wait till the iPhone 5 launched, as rumors are on the fly.
Me personally, I'm counting the days till I can order it. ;)

Anything but plastic. My 3GS has two cracks on its plastic back that are getting bigger and bigger by the day.

I don't own an iPhone 4, but I've heard some horror stories (including some in my family) about the back glass shattering, so maybe glass isn't the best idea for the iPhone 5.

What would be cool is returning to the original iPhone metal style. That'd be nice to see. And I'm hearing people are going crazy over this liquid metal thing, but unfortunately, I have no idea what that is. Sounds cool though.

You'd' need a black plastic strip though.

I'll never buy a glass phone.

Just don't drop the phone, I have a different phone 2 years old and I have dropped it once cause it was on the edge of the couch.

Plus it had a case and it dropped from under 2 feet, no physical signs on the phone showed that it ever happened.

All the glass hate is necessary but too many people bypass the recommended rules to safeguard it.

1- Use a case
2- Hold it with 2 hands
3- Only use it while sitting

Only use the phone while sitting?! Lol I hope you're joking. What about if you go out to a club? Or you get a text while walking? A smartphone is supposed to help, not hinder, you shouldn't have to adjust your routine to fit your phone.

Leaning against wall while using in club?

Finding a place to sit to respond to the text?

Adjusting well prolong the safety of the phone and with the iphone being a top tier phone, I can't imagine why a person would text while walking ....and BOOM

Someone knocks in to you and you dropped the iphone, it cracks and these unfortunate BUT PREVENTABLE events get circulated around the web.

I text one handed on the move with my 3GS. It's no longer a top tier phone but it sure as hell beats having to sit down to text. It takes drops like a champ and keeps going. Like I said, these safety measures are something you shouldn't need to follow. Accidents will eventually happen, a phone should be able to withstand one or two at least.

Wood. Seriously... I would love to have a wooden phone.
They could offer it in different stains and a nice lacquer finish.

For that matter has anyone made a custom conversion for any of the iPhones... not just a wood case?

Only use while sitting and only with 2 hands?!?!?! Where's the rofl emoticon when you need it. I hope you aren't serious

Wow talk about not being able to come to grips with reality. Stop justifying your choice. Admit glass is a bad idea for a smartphone. Trust me, theres no winning this arguement.
