Going to Verizon – there's LTE here in Albuquerque (AT&T is rolling it out in Fall 2012/Spring 2013), better coverage here and pretty much everywhere else I've traveled in the US, and if I want to travel internationally Verizon will unlock the SIM part for that use.

Sprint this time around for me. They offered me a nice heavily discounted package. With LTE coming soon in my area that's unlimited, why not root for the underdog?

Sticking with AT&T

I would like to switch carriers because AT&T's coverage is definitely lacking compared to Verizon where I live (Southeast TN), however I won't be switching even though my contract is up at the beginning of October.

Why I'd like to switch:
AT&T throttles my data after 3GB each month (grandfathered unlimited data)
Coverage is much worse than Verizon, though AT&T has gotten better.
The whole Facetime over 3G fiasco...
While there is no LTE where I live, I think Verizon is most likely to have it first.

Why I won't switch:
The shared data plans are much more expensive (regardless of carrier) than what I pay now. We don't need unlimited minutes or texting. We currently pay $122 for two iPhones on an older family plan. I can't get anywhere close to that cheap with the new plans. I can get close on Sprint, but don't want the slow data.
AT&T may throttle my data after 3GB, but at least it is still technically unlimited.
Verizon is quite a bit slower than AT&T where I live.

Going to ATT. Cheaper to pay ETF on Verizon and pay $299 for phone. Hope I don't regret this.

Can Verizon do talk + Data at same time ?

Scenario:
. Using iPhone + tethering hotspot to Wifi-Ipad
. During a call on the iPhone, which carrier allows the iPad to receive/send data ? I understand AT&T can, Verizon cannot.

Could someone confirm ? Thanks in advance.

Speed+coverage: Verizon has the edge
Cost+simultaneous data/voice use: AT&T has the edge

I think only ATT offers this.
