Staying with Verizon. I think the new iPhone isn't going to run on AT&T's LTE network but its faux 4G HSPA+ network. On the other hand, with the new iPad running on Verizon's LTE network, I can be pretty sure Verizon is going to have the new iPhone running on its LTE network.

No way I'm going with Sprint. Unlimited data which you can't even use (extremely slow, I've heard) is not unlimited DATA at all. And I even heard Sprint does throttling on its already very slow networks.

I don't understand what's so bad about those new tiered plans the carriers are offering. Yes I understand, they are way overpriced and offers much lesser than what you consumers want. But carriers had to earn a profit someway somehow, and in my opinion the tiered plans aren't TOO bad. In fact, with the new share plans you can even share your data with your other lines which is great. Now I won't need to fully for each number i own.

I will be moving to Verzon's share plans when I upgrade to the new iPhone. I aren't worried a single bit for the 2 year contract as I own another 2 lines for my father and mother and they own dumb phones. Their contracts are long ago expired and available for recontract. So I'll have the chance to upgrade to the newest iphones for the next 2 years.

Straight Talk for me, but if AT&T moves LTE out to my area in the next two years I'll be feeling the urge to go back to being overcharged.

Honestly! A carrier? I put mine in my pocket.

:D

giffgaff. Not a US carrier but I AM SMASHING THE AMERICAN OPPRESSION ON THIS THREAD! :p

They give me the best value and they pay me, can't ask for more than that :p

Wish I could sign my soul away and get it for the subsidized price, but I'm on T-Mobile. Guess I could do that for a Galaxy SIII, sell it and put it towards the iPhone though.. :D

Unlocked and I will use it on Straight Talk. Unless it is LTE and ST will not support it. Then I'll just stick with my 4S.

So you're saying you don't think the AT&T iPhone is going to have LTE compatibility despite the fact that the new iPad for AT&T does?

I'll probably switch to Verizon, I can pay my AT&T ETF and buy a fully subsidized iPhone 5 from Verizon cheaper than if I was to stay on AT&T and buy a phone at full retail price.

To top it off, Verizon lets you use your data as you paid for it, however you want! I can FaceTime, use Personal Hotspot, and share my data with any devices I please! AT&T needs to wake up!

Edit: Also, word going around town now is that Verizon is putting up LTE on a few towers here locally, just in time for the new iPhone!

I hope you now realize that choosing a mobile share plan on AT&T--which is exactly what you HAVE to choose on Verizon--allows you to do all the same things (FaceTime, Hotspot, and share your data). There really is no difference in plans now.

LTE coverage, on the other hand, is an entirely different matter..

AT&T doesn't let you use Personal Hotspot on your iPad, so Verizon has the advantage.

Fair point, wasn't aware of that, though, if you can create a hotspot on your phone already, don't see why this is a big deal. I guess if you want to minimize battery drain on your phone and carry both an iPad and laptop, it's a benefit.

I like the option, as I can leave the iPad's screen off and use the hotspot mode for 25 hours. The huge battery makes it an excellent hotspot.

you could also just pay the early upgrade device fee and stay on AT&T, I think is just $100 more than regular subsidized price ;)

att isnt doing mine at 12 months :/ they are saying its 18 months on iphones now for early upgrades, unless the rep i talked to was a complete idiot

Sticking with AT&T. Grandfathered data/text plans along with a FAN account and bonus 200 minutes each month will keep me with them for now.

The early upgrade price is $250. more than the regular upgrade price. Also, some people on here are saying that AT&T isn't giving them the early upgrade this year as they have done in the past.

I'll stick with AT&T. I have great coverage & CS with them, a 24% monthly discount, and still have a unlimited data plan so there really is no reason to switch at this point in time. I want LTE here in the suburbs but don't want to switch to Verizon just for that.

At&t??

I think I am sticking with AT&T this will be my first iphone. I am torn about switching carriers...I think once AT&T gets the LTE up in most of the country it will be much faster than VERIZON.

I recommend you go with the carrier that has best coverage in your state. If all have the same coverage, then AT&T.

Yea I live in PA about an hour outside Philly so I think we are getting LTE soon. In that case I will stick with AT&T but it is tempting reading all the talk on here to switch.

You can also check this site: http://www.cellreception.com

They have independent reviews of cel provider reception listed by city. Also if you switch an find out you are not happy, most providers have a 4 day period for cancelling without penalty. Some also offer 30 days only paying for activation cost.

I've been using AT&T since Cingular days, and will continue using it while I live here. In my area, I almost always have full bars. I've never had any issues with them. I would probably use Sprint, but I don't get Sprint in my area and I'm not too big on CDMA. I just don't like Verizon.

AFAIK 18 months is for a full upgrades not the early upgrade fee. At least for me I can do normal update every 18months on my 24month contract.

Ahh good to know, that is quite a lot more then.

AT&T. Verizon's new shared data plans are too expensive compared to AT&T. An AT&T family plan with 3 iPhones including separate data plans for each iPhone is cheaper than a Verizon family plan with 2 iPhones and 1 non-smartphone. Verizon only gives you the option of unlimited texting AND calling which I doubt everyone wants/needs and there is no other option unless you go prepaid. At least AT&T lets me choose if I want data plans per device or a shared family data plan.

I currently have AT&T and I am always dropping calls in my apartment and in my yard. Any chance reception will get better on their LTE network?

I would love to switch to Sprint, but no LTE in NYC is a deal breaker.

LTE is data only right now, no effect on voice network.
