At apple store in Fashion Valley and the guy has no clue. He is asking around while I type. Lol

I'm seeing this on iPhone 5 on Verizon in Oregon also. New customer ported from AT&T. Setup as new iPhone, not restored from old one.

I live in Seattle and also have had this problem Had to restart to get the clock working again. I'm also on Verizon.

So I am home from the Apple Store, they wiped my phone clean and reinstalled the software and firmware. Let's see if this solves my little time problem.

Genius did a DFU restore and changed my SIM card. They said if it happens again bring it back in and they'll swap out the phone. The waiting begins...

It happened again :(. Back to the Apple store for a replacement tomorrow, it must be a hardware issue.

It's not just changing time zones, it is more than 12 hours off, so unless my GPS shows me someplace in Europe, it is not that. Also, the date shows last month.

I noticed that you have Do Not Disturb on...have you tried turning this off? It could be that. Just an idea.

My sister has this problem since day one. We've tried restoring, as new, etc, but nothing fixes it. I've a feeling it has something to do with imessage or transitioning from LTE to 3G. Ported from AT&T. She's also getting a lot of "all circuits are busy" when making phone calls.

My wife's phone had it happen yesterday in 3G land for first time and I sent her an imessage. But she hasn't seen it again since.

On my verizon iphone 5, I've not had this bug.

I have the same issue where my phone seems to fall about 30 minutes behind. I just got off the phone with Verizon and they acknowledge that the problems exists. They said that it seems to be a software issue and they are working on a fix with Apple. In the meantime, they said that a short term fix may work is to go to Setting-->General-->Date & Time and turn off Set Automatically. Then go into Set Date & Time and then put it ahead 1 year (e.g. Oct 1, 2013) and then tap on General-->Setting and the home button to get all the way back to the home screen. They asked me to confirm that the date was in the future and once I did they told me to go back and set it back to the current Date & Time. I then asked if I should leave it on the manually set Date & Time there or put it back on Set Automatically and they told me it's ok to put it back to Set Automatically.

I just finished their directions a few minutes ago so I'll monitor for the next few days to see if it really is a temporary fix. This problem is so annoying because my phone is the primary device I use to tell time and I don't trust it. I might have to start wearing a watch again. Hope they identify root cause and permanently fix soon.

I'm in Indiana on Verizon with an iPhone 5 and have also noticed the time not being correct. The last time was when its 8pm but its showing 5:22am on the phone. This is annoying and I hope Apple knows about this problem.

I'm in NC and have had Verizon for years. I moved from an iPhone 4 to the 5 on Sept. 21. The time has changed everyday since I've had it. It normally pushes the clock back about 40-50 minutes earlier. I called Verizon last week and they had me do a restore, I had already tried several things, like the hard reset. All my settings are the way they are supposed to be. This seems like a Verizon issue to me.

I'm going to the Verizon store this evening, I am uncertain if a new phone will fix the issue, but want my complaint to be heard...again.

Maybe it’s getting your location from the maps app and putting you in a different time zone. :p
Are you located close to a time zone change?

I went to the verizon store yesterday. The representative told me I could just set my time manually. I told him that was not a solution and I wasn't going to do that. He said if he had any iphone 5's in stock that he would give me a new one but he didnt, so oh well. He was finished with me, but I made him document my issue in the computer.

After that frustrating experience I went to the Apple store this morning and spoke to a "Genius" he tried to tell me the issue was that my iCloud account probably was set to Pacific time even though my phone was in Eastern Standard. We changed my iCloud time zone, but I asked well if it thinks I am in Pacific time why last night was it 1 hour and 32 minutes off. So then he reset my location and though that would fix it. I told him it takes me 30 minutes to get to the store and that if there was anything else he could do to do it. He reinstalled the firmware and I had to set up my phone (again).

I found it surprising neither representative tried to research the issue to see if this issue has been reported to other locations. Both just relied on their prior knowledge.

Anyone seen this problem occur after the Verizon 13.1 network update? I have not seen this happen since then, but I'm not sure yet if the problem is fixed or it's just a coincidence.

Yes, it happened here after the update. I updated on Monday, and the time was off again this morning. VZW is aware of this issue, and I have been working with tech support the last couple of days. VZW stated it could be something on the SIM side, but I have not gone as far to get a new SIM card yet.

So after trying the fix above I did get the time falling back again. I tried doing everything above again with the exception of the last step of putting it back to Set Automatically and I have gone 1.5 days without any issues. I will continue to monitor to see if this short term fix works.

iPhone 5 Time Issue

I also have been having the same problem. After my second visit to the Apple Store they did replace my iPhone. I am with Verizon in SC and my time will go back 30-40 minutes. Also having received a new phone it still does it. The strange thing is it will do it when I have the time set to automatic or manual. Also it seems to do it whenever I use any app that is internet related. I deff agree that this is a software problem between Verizon and Apple. I also went to the Verizon store and the rep gave me a line of how Apple is one of the worst companies and that I would be better off with a Razr. What a Jerk!! I am hoping that a fix can come to this soon. Also it has done it since the new carrier update.

I feel your pain

Happening here in KS on Verizon. It happens almost daily, and all of the time settings are correct. I have toggled the settings and all results are the same. The wife gets errors trying to send texts saying that the time is wrong, and thats when she notices it. A reboot fixes it as noted above, but that shouldn't have to happen.

This is exactly what happened to me too. I had no problems the first two weeks I had the phone, then this morning I started getting the text message errors and then noticed that the time was wrong on the phone. Rebooting fixed it, but how can I rely on my phone if it randomly does this? I am a long time Verizon user from CA.

So I've had to go to apple twice now with this problem.

First time they wiped my phone, I came home and restored from backup. Then it happened again a few days later.

Second time I went to apple they again wiped my phone ad told me not to restore from back up but set it up as a new phone. (Kind of makes sense, that if the previous problem was a glitch with the previous set up).

I have not had the time/date issue since I did this a few days ago. But this morning my gf tells me that the time/date bug has hit her now. A long time Verizon user, and since this is her first iPhone there were no previous backups.

Interesting.

I am having the same issue. My phone is currently behind by 1 hour and 35 minutes. I first noticed it 2 days ago when my alarm went off unexpectedly. At that time I had set my clock to manual and later in the day I set it to automatic. I hadn't seen it happen again until this morning when I looked at my phone and noticed the time.

I have an iPhone 5 with Verizion in Indiana.

The only additional information that I can provide is that where I am currently located, I jump between LTE and 3G quite frequently. Attached is a screenshot I took a few minutes ago.
