We are on a Apple tech site now and despite pages upon pages of comments even MacRumors is refusing to make this front page news. On the payroll perhaps?

They have a news story right under their nose and ignore it. Why?

Cult of Mac did an article on it...but they also do cult of android....

Hmmm..maybe it should be brought to the attention at nonApple friendly sites so they can raise a voice to the issue???

When I place my phone on a flat surface, I get 4 degrees. I tried yesterday and today, and tried different surfaces.

Seriously... Would not a problem such as this be on "World News Tonight" if some larger tech site just started the ball rolling. I mean they love to pile on when Apple gets something wrong.

I hate to say it but lets get "GyroGate" to go public so Apple gets off their @ss and addresses this.

Agreed - We should start a new thread called gyro gate and publicise via twitter.

how do you test this "gyrogate"? just lay it on a table? maybe you gotta recalibrate it a few times? maybe your table isn't level? or these steal in the table that's making it askew?

my 5c shows 0 to 1 degree, should I start slapping Genious's around at the nearest apple store till I get on that's dead on zero?

Let's start #GyroGate along with #5s and #Apple on twitter?

Done! Can everyone else tweet using these hashtags to raise awareness

0-1 isnt bad and the issue seems to be affecting more 5S's

Might want read through the thread.

0 to -1 probably means your table is not 100% level. The problem is widespread on 5s, 5c seems to be fine.

No need to slap anyone arround, u can move on.

Yeah mine was off by like -4 and -5 sometimes. Got it exchanged yesterday with a week 36 F2 model. No change...

However, I had a white / silver one two days ago (which I returned because I grew attached to the Black), and that one did not have issues. So it's odd.

Do any you have clinometer on similar app? This is 100 software issue i bet there's gyro calibration issue. Since using any 3rd pt gyro works perfectly

Stuff like this just bothers me. I understand a company can make a mistake, but don't you think apple would've tested this before they released it?

There's gotta be some guy/gal sitting at a desk somewhere at apple with a spreadsheet of ios features that is responsible for actually testing said features before releasing a major product.

Seems iOS7 + 5S hardware & software is lacking testing... It WAS a massive rewrite ... given that the developers (wider community not Apple) didn't know about 64-bit inadvance ... Apple rewrote iOS7's look and feel, particle and physics engine, new type engine, Motion co-pro CoreMotion api, TouchID, and redeveloped all of the stock apps for 64-bit ..... i think they just ran out of time and people.

Gyrogate, iMessage failure, Lockscreen bypass....

Always bought new iDevice on day 1 .... not going to do so anymore....
This particular issue has meant i'm not playing 1/2 the games i want to and so its sitting much more idle and i'm not enjoying that aspect of my new phone so much..

If it is hardware which is looking likley as 3rd party apps are reporting same as native app then they will have to adjust the manufacturing process somehow. By which time people will be beyond the return period and will be recieving re-furbished phones as replacement, not good considering the price tag and the hassle people went through to get them on launch day.

Apart from games/apps which this affects, it is very handy to have a leveler on the go in your pocket. Over the past year I have used this many times both at home and at work.

After the exchange, mine on its back is still -2, long side -1, iphone 5 perfectly 0. Even the -1 makes a difference when playing driving games. Still have my device tilted a bit to drive straight.

Gonna wait for a bit til this is all figured out before trying to exchange again.
