My question is Does ATT offer insurance and I guess even lost or stolen phones.
What happens with Squaretrade if your phone is stolen or lost?
Because of all the gyro problems with the 5s, get Apple care.
I'm tempted to go with squaretrade and cancel my applecare+. I've yet to file a claim based upon accidental damage, but the difference of amount is about $30 per claim. I know apple offers phone support, but I've yet to use that on any apple product.

Then it would be be covered under manufacture original warranty. Not sure why you need applecare+ for a defect.![]()
However, Apple gives you another phone immediately and squaretrade does not. Have to wait a bit. I prefer Apple. Customer support is just more comfortable to deal with than a third party business
What?? Do you even know what your talking about? You can go to the apple store. Pay for a replacement phone and then squaretrade will reimburse you.
OK, you got me on that one if accurate, but I don't want to wait for a reimbursement. Apple is still my choice![]()
Yah you would have to wait for payment. It's usually 1-2 days.
AppleCare+ claim limits: 2 claims total
Squaretrade claim limits: up to 4 claims or payments up to the total value of the device $649 for 16GB)
That doesn't sound like they provide the same service.
If my phone is wrecked and I need a whole new device, AppleCare+ will give me one for $79, twice. Squaretrade would pay for the new device once and then call it a day.
Although that said, I don't think AppleCare+ cover liquid damage. Not sure though.
Really? I thought accidental coverage would include liquid damage?
AppleCare Terms & Conditions said:ADH coverage only applies to an operational or mechanical failure caused by an accident from handling that is the result of an unexpected and unintentional external event (e.g., drops and liquid contact) that arises from your normal daily usage of the Covered iPhone as intended for such Covered iPhone. ADH coverage does not include (a) protection against normal wear and tear, theft, misplacement, reckless, abusive, willful or intentional conduct associated with handling and use of the Covered iPhone, (b) protection against any other act or result not covered by the Plan, as described in Section 4.2 below, or (c) any resultant damage to the Covered iPhone that arises from one or more conditions described in Section 3.2(a) or (b).

I would have picked AppleCare+ but the price difference with Squaretrade is now significant.
AppleCare+ price: $99
Squaretrade price (with coupon): $95
AppleCare+ deductible: $79
Squaretrade deductible: $50
AppleCare+ claim limits: 2 claims total
Squaretrade claim limits: up to 4 claims or payments up to the total value of the device $649 for 16GB)
Squaretrade will reimburse you for your costs minus the deductible if you get the phone fixed at Apple's Genius Bar or will cross-ship to you if you don't want to front the repair costs at the Genius Bar.
Seems like Squaretrade is now the better deal.
Your payout limit would be $849.You will get a replacement on the squaretrade plan too. Just pay for replacement then squaretrade reimburses on your claim. End result equals you walking out with a replaced iPhone.

What if you paid for the 64gb iPhone? Is your limit still 649 or 849?
Squaretrade just increased their iphone deductible to $99. They still show $49 on some parts of their site, but I called to confirm that the deductible increase to $99 went into effect today.

AppleCare+ looks to be the better deal now.
Wow. I signed up at $49 deductible. Wonder if it's for all contracts or new ones.
No worries. The customer service rep told me if you bought it yesterday or earlier you'll still have a $49 deductible. It's for new warranties only.
Square Trade just price themselves out of the market with the new $99 deductible. I wonder what idiot decided this was a good idea. Their main advantage over Apple Care+ was their $49 deductible.
