iPhone 5S, AppleCare+ or Squaretrade?

If you bought Squaretrade before the 22nd, then you still have the $49 deductible. No need to cancel, as that's a better deal than AppleCare+.
No I'm canceling my iPhone 5 square trade and I'm getting apple care when my 5s finally arrives. Sorry should have been more clear. This was stupid if square trade. I was using them for everything.
According to SquareTrade customer service "The deductible for all new iPhone warranties will be $99, effective from 10/20/2013." They have just opened the door for AppleCare+ ($79 deductible) to become the dominant iPhone warranty. Good job SquareTrade!!!

SquareTrade - $99 Deductible now
If you check the Squaretrade website now (12/2013) for iPhone coverage, it shows in very fine print there is now a $99 deductible charge for all claims -- right under the large print saying it costs $125 for two years of coverage for an iPhone 5s. It makes the cost for a single claim $224!
I believe this is new. It is a BIG price increase for SquareTrade and they are trying to hide it. I'd say Applecare at $99 plus $79, or $178 for each of up to two claims is better.

Correction... After calling SquareTrade about the price for a warranty for the iPhone 5s, I was informed that they offer a different plan for previous warranty owners - $99 plus $50 service fee per claim. Much different pricing!!

Easy solution : buy a new phone every year ...
Ma ell your current about 30 days or so before the new iphone is announced to get the most bang for your buck.
Yes, you will spend a bit more per year then going with insurance but it'll even out in the end.

Where do you guys see SquareTrade offers a claim of $99. I see $75 on there website.
