I love Apple's 5s leather case. The leather is so supple and the perfect mix of prop and slip (slips into pocket easily yet stays put on angles.)

The fit is perfect too. Its hard to get on and off it fits so well. I love it.

Power Support Air Jacket, maybe?

Still too heavy? Spigen Crystal Mix or ArmorSuit MilitaryShield.

I had the same feeling too....I thought the Apple Leather Case is all I wanted until I tried the .35mm Caudabe The Veil case. It feels like a naked iPhone instead of case covering the beautiful design.

Hi All,

I don't know which case I should be purchasing for the iPhone 5S.

I am very careful with the device and I don't need something bulky like the Otterbox to protect the phone. I need a case that's very lightweight, thin and doesn't add bulk and that takes care of minor scratches.

Any recommendations - perhaps something that you have
used or using currently ?

you can also consider the Senvten. :)

I think the Caudabe Veil is excellent too. Both my hubby and I have it and we love it. The phone feels as thin as an iPhone without a case!

From what I've read, the .2m is still too big to fit the case, the housing around the plug is larger that the standard cable

Okay, I just want and compared plug sizes on the adaptor and the stock sync cable. The adaptor plug is considerably thicker around. I never noticed an issue when I was using the leather case, but because it seemed to snap in and function fine I assumed that it fit in the hole and never bothered to inspect it closely. So it could be true what the online reviewers are saying, that it makes an indentation in the leather around the port.

So it comes down to what you are willing to live with. It snapped in securely and functioned properly for me. There might be some minor cosmetic damage to the case.

Again, I ended up ditching the leather case entirely and am now with the Veil, which has the entire bottom exposed.

No matter what, it's a trade-off somewhere.

If you go with the Apple leather case, keep in mind that this is what happens, even with light usage:

Thats why I got the black version. That hasn't happened to mine yet at all.

The problem with the Veil is that it offers zero drop protection.

I'm not sure it's zero drop protection.

It clearly is better than a naked phone, especially for the scratches and marring that a fall can leave on an uncovered phone. It probably offers little cushioning during a large drop, but I'm not convinced any of the non-shock absorbing cases really offer significant protection from a major fall. The main issue with a fall is not a broken phone, but a marred phone in my experience. I have seen posts from users whose Veil has split in a fall, but it accomplished its function and protected the phone. A direct drop on the screen is not saved by the Veil nor others.

The Veil does what a minimal case does do well - it protects against scratches and dents and provides a layer between the object and the phone. It also keeps dirty greasy hands off the phone and provides a naked feel with some protection.

Where can I go about buying a Veil in clear? They are sold out on Amazon + ebay (ebay has frost, but I think I saw a clear available)

I am currently using an Elago S5 Outfit Matrix, but it is too bulky for my needs.

How can they be sold out? I thought they make the Veil case themselves in United States...it's not line it's being made in factories in China and have to be shipped here. I wonder if they're revising the design.

I will heavily advise you look at Magpull. They have a great case and comes in colors. Very lightweight, thin and durable.

I am currently using it and the case is very sturdy and it is raised on the front side to protect against a free fall to a flat floor.
