Same screen size? I'll stick with my iPhone 4 (STILL) and see if they come out with a larger, high resolution (same dpi or finer) phone for the iPhone 6. If not, I'll check out Samsung's offerings.

woohoo! i hope they bring out the iphone 5S as soon as possible, i cant wait to get my hands on that awesome iOS7. apple should release the upcoming iphone before the expected time, it'd be lovely if they release it on my birthday(July 26th).

All these years and still no front-facing back plate.

Okay... I guess it may have to do with the clean look and aesthetics of the device. Anyway the tiny little speaker isn't going to sound good. I'd suggest you to use earphones or external speakers.

Apple changed the earphone jack from top to bottom and I agreed thats where it belonged all the time :)

I use my ipad 4 with external speakers and my macbook pro 17" also with external speakers My iphone 5 should have front facing speakers because everyone who watches youtube or movies or the news should be able to listen to their iphone straight at them not cupping your had or buying one of those speaker cups to direct the sound LOL Apple hasn't got this right ! HTC-One does

the 5s is as big of a disappointment as the 5, apple better stop dropping the ball when it comes to the iphone 6 or it may be time to get the galaxy. Apple used to be the leader in mobile inovation, now they have the same stale "inovations" and now their UI looks the same as all the other touchphones.. Hopefully apple will start leading again and stop following.

That's funny, I own Apple and Samsung products ... So now I'm an android fanboy for my opinion ... Gotta love these sheep!!!!! (childish and pathetic!)

I find it funny that you call all of us "sheep", yet you're on the biggest APPLE-centric website in the world.

They have an official explanation: because despite their hate of Apple they all of a sudden like to use a MacBook Pro so much or something like that alongside with their Android devices so they are entitled to troll all the pro Apple posts. :D

Sand in your VJ? Out of bed the wrong way?

Or are you another person who finds it oh so tiresome to put in a 4 digit code and you simply MUST have a useless fingerprint scanner?

Nope, just a guy that has other things to do than listen to complaints when you can clearly just log off. I'll buy what I want, actually.

I'm an Apple user and take great interest in what Apple are doing. I'm not a sheep though ... Are you ... Do you even recognise what one is (doubtful, if not perhaps because .... Oh, never mind, I'll leave you to graze!)

Who cares about the chip ffs. Iphone 4 had a totally new and great design. It was the first phone with the "wrap around" antenna, it had the Retina screen with best resolution on the market. Actually the first one. It had a GREAT camera, it was fast and it was reliable and build quality was superb. Oh and yes, it had a faster processing power than 3gs (if you care sooo much about that damn chip). And yet still you say that it was just a "cosmetic" update? Seriously, you have NO idea what you're talking about.

Chip is EVERYTHING. Thats what determines the capabilities, and thats what determines the life of the product. The 4 has struggled since iOS5 for a reason. (Hint: the reason is it has a chip from 2009 in it, the Cortex A8, rebranded as an "A4" chip)

And I am LMAO at people who say the OMG RETINA display is a huge upgrade. It adds nothing capability wise to the hardware, if anything it slows the phone down because its using the same GPU as the 3GS.

If you really think adding a high res monitor makes the hardware faster or more capable, then I have a Pentium 2 166mhz computer with 8mb ram thats hooked up to a 4K resolution monitor to sell you.

Hooking up old hardware to high res monitors does not mean you got better hardware.

Sorry guys, looks for ARCHITECTURAL changes in the processors. Thats how you stay ahead of this game. Thats why the 4S will be around a looooong time, and run much smoother than the 4 ever did with later OS's.

I'll take a Retina display at the speed of the iPhone 4 than the 3GS display on the same hardware any day. There's a reason why every phone now has high DPI, and it's not because there's no benefit to it. Most people, when they use their phone for anything other than a phone call, are looking at the display.

I didnt say display wasnt important. I said it doesnt constitute an upgrade to internal hardware or capabilities. And it still doesnt. Therefore the 4 is a very very VERY marginal upgrade to the 3GS.

I disagree. I think the 4 has been the biggest upgrade the iPhone has ever seen and it was thanks to the screen.

Well the problem here is that you're looking at the phone from completely different point of view. 99% of people DONT care what kind of chip a phone has, and the same was with iphone. It had a chip that was more than enough at that time. It ran iOS smoothly, it wasnt lagging like most of its competitors, all apps ran normally so there wasnt even any need for a new and better chip. You're probably just "spoiled" by today's "internal power wars" that we see with each new phone and the only reason to it is that theres really notih much new that they can add to a phone these days so the only thing thats left is insert a new badass chip and brag about it to geeks. But back in 2010 there was no need for anything like it. And yes 4s had a faster chip but what youre forgetting is that it came more than a year later and one year in today's world of technology is a loooong time when it comes to producing smaller, faster and cheaper chips.

and nobody said that adding a better screen makes a phone faster, that was a reference to your post saying how iphone 4 was just a little cosmetic upgrade - to which many people, me included, proved you wrong about that.

3GS - improved internals, faster, better cameras and extra features to take advantage of better innards. Easily supports all latest iOS features.

4 - cosmetic redesign only

4S - improved internals, faster, better cameras and extra features to take advantage of better innards. Easily supports all latest iOS features.

5 - cosmetic redesign only

5S - ?

this post almost gave me heart attack, cause if my iPhone 4 is nothing but a cosmetic change, i would be missing out on iOS7 upgrade. Get your info right.

He was wrong, but other than retina display, was a luke warm evolution.

3GS to 4 was only a clock speed bump of the same SOC architecture with a fancy name.

Cellular connectivity remained the same.

Camera minor bump.

Display made it all, retina was innovative, they took market by storm and sparked a new PPI spec sheet war in android handsets.

It gets iOS7 update because still being sold as new. And they have a duty to continue supporting. Has nothing to do with internal spec.

They screwed the pooch with antenna gate, and a gimpy cpu, as it was only a minor clock speed bump from 3GS.

4S is best.

Introduced multithreading, dual core CPU. The leap this makes for enduser smoothness and responsiveness is immense, far more than benchmarks alone can show. Fast enough that even the new 2x speed A6 I have in mine doesn't really improve on much, doesn't run circles around 4S owning friends, outside of synthetic benchmarks...

The 5 element lens camera.

Doubled hspa speed. My girlfriend and coworkers were running 8-10 mbps speed tests, I had lowly 3.

The antenna system with dual diversity cameras to fix antenna gate and boost reception.

The 4S, now two years later is still a fully capable and respectable handset. The 4 lost that after its first year, was leap frogged hard.

Without the cosmetic upgrade, the 5 would have been laughed off stage.

Thats why Apple loves people like you.

We arent asking if the screen makes it a pleasent phone to use. This is about capability. Raw processing power. The 4 is the 2nd least upgraded iPhone, with the 1st being the 3G. That is 100% fact, and you will have to deal with it.

The retina display does not make the phone faster. I bet people like you think that you can add 50HP per bumper sticker you put on your car too.

Who ever said the screen makes it faster? As far as "dealing with it" I did that too. I bought the 4, used it until Apple released the 5 (skipped 4s), and now I have the 5.

Sounds like the only person having a hard time dealing here is you. Or more accurately, need to figure out a better way to deal with people disagreeing with you than dropping your IQ down into the teens with a gem of a comment like "the screen doesn't make the phone faster" a lame comment followed by an even worse car analogy.
